Yep aware the interval will get shorter as I get even quicker and engine wears. Will continue to do blackstone once a year or so.

Must get rid of CF!

So what ever happened to your tire temps and the extra camber?

FYI, I just installed an electric fan and deleted the aux and mechanical fan. I also blew out my oil cooler and radiator...my car didn't run in the red this past weekend. A massive improvement despite 70+ degree temps. I could definitely tell the car was pulling timing mid way through a session before. I was surprised how much crap came out. I sprayed brake cleaner into the fins and used compressed air to blow it all out. Wear a face shield.

You save about 20 lbs by using a SPAL fan. Its super easy...just remove and wire the controller on the OE aux fan to the SPAL fan. I used the zip ties that BW sells. They held up fine. The only downer is you need to remove the radiator to install them AND you'll need to reinstall the radiator from the bottom of the car. But its a pretty easy install.

Haven't added any extra camber, still at 3.5 and 2.75 and tire wear is good. Might contact you about the fan later. Car will be down for a while stripping the rest of the interior. Sad to say more cf is in the works just for you, cf sunroof insert.

Without a doubt go to and electric fan. It's mind boggling why BMW would use a fan clutch on a car that revs high like the s54. It's very straightfoward and simple to do.

Make sure you retain the shround and try and mount the fan as close to the rad as possible.

I ditched the shroud and aux fan.

So there's a lot of room with the aux fan gone...wondering if an oil cooler in the place of the aux fan would be better than the OE location. I can fit a bigger and less expensive Setrab there.

Or maybe do a small front mount cooler in series with the OE cooler.

I would not ditch the shroud. Does a lot more than you think.

little update, the car is gonna be down for a bit. undergoing some further weight reduction in an attempt to get below 3000. Yesterday i pulled the door cards and cleaned up the glue from the sound deadening and pulled my seats. plan is to pull the carpet, headliner, sunroof, stereo, amp, all the remaining airbags, and center console. the sunroof is getting a carbon blank as is the stereo hole but plastic. i plan to fab up a dead pedal of some sort as well as a foot plate for my heels. i also pulled my slider on the drivers seat which will drop me down another inch in the car giving me much needed head room and saved another 4.5 lbs. more to follow.

The fan shroud on the back side? I kept the stuff in the front.

Weight reduction didn't take off as much as I thought. My best guess is 2996 with no gas. Pulled, rest of carpet, center console, all the airbags, headliner, speakers, stereo, amp, and some other random crap. Still have to pull ac components, sort wiring, and scrap sound deadener junk at some point.

put in the cf blank today. didnt line up exactly so had to file some of the holes. also the lip is flat and the underside of the roof is not. its gonna leak pretty much no matter what i do. i used double sided tape and a bead of rvt silicone on the underside then used the rvt to seal the gap on the top side also. looks decent. like james said i have to mch cf on this car, time to wrap some parts.

How long did it take you? Why do you think it HAS to leak?

Not very long at all, maybe 2 hours. I was under the impression initially that I could seal both top side and bottom side. I bought glass urethane to seal the inside edge and rvt silicone to seal the gap on the roof side. The part is flat and the roof is undulated so sealing is next to impossible inside. That's why I think it will leak. I did however do a decent job of making a seal on the topside so might be okay as the silicone should remain flexible and can be reapplied if issue occurs.
