+1. I'm curious to see how these compare to the Z1s. I've seen some reviews where they are similar to the Z1s just a little more of everything. My only complaint with the Z1s was greasiness after about 15 minutes but they were a fantastic rain tire!

Just checked the specs on the tires. The circumferential difference of the above setup is 0.7 inches (fronts are small). 245/40/18 is a closer match, though 0.1 inch narrower tread width up front where we need more grip.

I'd go with the 275/35's and 245/40's to maintain the ~0.1 inch circumferential difference of the stock setup, but I'm funny that way. If, however, you turn TC off on the track, then never mind.

I like that these tires are symmetrical. Makes flipping them on the wheels 1/2 way through their wear cycle possible for longer life!

I wonder how they are as a daily driver?

Why no love for NT05's??

They probably don't have the ultimate grip of the new ZII or AD08R, but they're cheap as hell and wear really well. They break away pretty gradually too... ask me how I know.

Circumference is how big around a circle is. You're talking about diameter. The stock diameter difference front to rear is .6". A 275/35 and 245/40 have nearly identical diameters making them significantly different from stock, not more similar.

I've seen mixed reviews on them on the interwebs but most people I talk to in person seem to like them.

I would have given them a try but I was with the RS3s.

Have you had issues with the RS3 heat cycling out after a few sessions or track days? I keep hearing this about them, but otherwise they get great reviews.

I dont have an experience with these tires, but i have heard many times that these are the only street tires that cycle out like r-compound tires . On the other hand, why would anyone use street tires in dry conditions on the track? Excluding novace drivers of course.

Because not everyone's car makes it easy to transport a set of track wheels to the track, or they don't want to deal with the hassle/cost of dedicated track wheels (or the higher overall running costs in terms of tread life and brake wear), or they don't want to get better simply by adding grip. I see PSSes on a lot of advanced run group cars, mine included.

You don't become better by adding grip, you may get faster. You still have to control the car just at a new level. Step most people eventually make in search of quicker times. I loved ad08s until I tried nt01s now they feel like garbage. Same thing will probably happen each step up.

My RS3s got better until they got bald. I never corded one but I have had them look like slicks.

I'm sure that they'll get hard after awhile. I never had a set for more than 9 months and they had a lot of track time.

Someone told me that it's better to have separate street and track tires even if I ran street tires on track because I would get a lot more track time out of my track tires.

I honestly didn't understand that. I'd bring one extra wheel/tire as a spare but I don't think you need to swap out street tires.
