Opinion on OEM Wheel Repair

Guys,

I took my car in for some wheel vibrations and was surprised to find that 3 of my 4 wheels had minor bends in them. These are the OEM 220M wheels.

The dealership quoted me about $750 to fix the repairs.

I wanted your opinion on whether to go ahead with the repairs or try to sell my wheels for cheap and source an unbent set of 220Ms from a fellow forum members.

Financially, it may work out to be cheaper to source a good condition used set and sell my set as opposed to getting them fixed at the dealers.

Thoughts?

Hey Sam definitely a thought, but I prefer the 220ms in terms of looks. I think they complement this car beautifully.

Yes I was a bit surprised too. I honestly can't recall hitting any memorable potholes. This is also the dealer's claim, so I guess I should take it with a bag of salt.

I would at least try a road force balance before bagging the wheels especially if you like them...are there any visable marks around the bends?

If you have your wheels with you while you are here in Jersey I can hook you up with a good source. If we get a cance to meet up this week we can discuss the details.

Hey man you're probably right. No real marks except for some surface level scratches. Also, the vibrations are really slight, so I doubt that the bends are serious if at all they exist. I will look at a wheel balance. Hope all is well in NYC.
