I'm hoping that my 08 continues to be perfect at 30K miles, this gives me one more reason to hold onto it and keep sinking money into mods

Once again
Got the transmission malfunction once again on my 2011 e93. Cleared after a restart. Going to the dealer again on Monday. 2200 miles. Maybe new DCT software will fix it?

Loving my DCT so far, although I'm just over 1,000m, so still new .
Good luck. Subscribed, will follow this.

Hi, Gents.
not so funny -second post on forum, but the problem still exists. Just returned from dealer tech center, bring them brand new wife`s 2011 m3e92 (250 Miles) symptoms completely the same- gearbox malfunction-visit the dealer etc. Immediate attepts to move- cause complete shut down, with heavy punch from behind... after 15 min -everything works perfect, no warning messages etc. Anyway, guys will look through car's memory-we`ll see what soultion will be find in Moscow. Hope it is software problems...but doubting so far. |

UPD:
10 days ago, my dealer refilled software, assured me that it was "first time ever see that..." everything was fine- car reached 800miles and...today while i'm heading out from gas station-bug appears again: no 1-3-5-7 and what is most funny R gear. Just parked at the office -5 minutes- everything works...i'm more than happy right now... so, looks like i should insist on changing transmission? |

Dude, don't make anecdotal reports scare you. Out of the thousands and thousands of DCT M3s of course there will be a lemon or 2. The DCT lag issue WAS common and got fixed, anything else is sporadic unusual cases. It's just the I secure MT owners who spin that out if control. DCT is nothing but AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING

DCT was plagued by software glitches before last years fix. Either transmission is just fine. The number of issues/failures worldwide is slim. This msg board should be not be an indicator of the overall reliability of a transmission. My DCT is flawless (4.5k miles now).

How is everyones dct holding up? I just got the transmission malfunction error and was limited to 2,4,6 gears. Car has been at the dealer since late last week. They told me that there was too much pressure in one of the clutches. Have yet to hear back on a solution. They are waiting to hear back from BMW on what to do next.
Anyone think its a good idea to show the SA this thread????? |
