Masters,

I'm at 9200 mls and I wanna do an extra oil change on my own expense, wanted to do it at 8700k but missed...... I guess. Called my local dealer and they will do it for $180. Should I go for it or its too much for this?

If this is labor included, yes. If it's just parts, no.

Labor included. Which oil should I ask for or they will put the right one in. The girl sitting at the counter was like: is this a twin turbo engine?!!!!!!!!!

that is fair price for oil change. just make sure they didn't charge you for a regular 3 series oil change then that would be a lot.

Thought about it, I think the kit is $160, then I thought if for $180 I'd get BMW to change it, it's a better deal. I don't have to break my f****** back, I get to sit have a cup of coffee and chat with the service chic.

You got me worried. Yes, they asked what year I said 2013 so they thought its a "twin turbo" which makes me think they thought its the new regular 3 ser. Unless they thought its the twin turbo M3 which is not out yet, f****** BMW US service dumb asses

I paid $108 with taxes due to coupon special at BMW of San Antonio. They even threw in an extra liter of oil for the trunk even my warranty expired in March. I was a little wary of their reputation, but it was a rather nice experience.

They did want to change the spark plugs for almost $800, but I passed as I have the coil puller tool and can DIY that one without a lift or ramps.

BMW still does annual low mileage oil changes for free as part of 50k maintenance warranty. If its been at least a year since last oil change, you could qualify. They won't (or shouldn't) reset your cbs computer, so when you come up to 15k or there about, you'll get another free oil/filter change. Check with your SA to see if you qualify for the annual ow mileage change.

I just buy the oil, filter and do it myself and even then it costs about $130 or so. So your price is not bad.

decent price, my dealer won't budge at $300 (no joke). I was like gtfo...6 months ago, you quoted me $245. So they're charging me about $140 for labor and $160 for parts.

Needless to say, i took my business elsewhere. The SA swears the price is $300 b/c of TWS vs standard oil....I was like you sure...you charge your cusomters $140 for labor for a lube job??!

$108 with a coupon is a killer deal. My local coupons specifically say it's cannot be use to deflect cost of oil change on an M car. Basically, they won't even let use the coupon and pay UP for the parts cost. They just won't mess with the M and a coupon.

The coupon included all "non-modified" BMWs. It states up to 7 liters, but they had no issue with M. I was pretty stoked to get the service at that price.

They did the oil change and filter for $180 labor included.

They found a nail in the rear right tire and they changed it (running on Pirelli) and thank god I have the tire insurance coz its was $495 and I paid $50 which is my deductible.

Thanks BMW

The service invoice states that 8 liters of TWS 10W60 was used. The total bill came to $176.50 and then was discounted to $105.71.

I have a question, once they changed the oil the mark was at max and now after 2-3 drives I see the mark at half. Is that normal? The break in oil change mark was at max and did not decline at all.

This is how much my dealer charges. $300.

Also, what I think is ridiculous... is Alignment... another $300.

Thankfully I am still in maintenance period (only 1200 miles left though).

I will obviously NOT be going to the dealer for maintenance as I have some respect for where my money burns, and the dealer has already burned enough of it.
