Repacking Exhaust Systems...
Can someone explain why motorcycle's after market exhaust system require repacking and not for a automobile?
Do anything happen as miles accumulate on an aftermarket exhaust system? |

Exhaust systems get louder over time as the packing degrades through heat cycles but most people usually sell the bike or car before that happens. Repacking seems overkill in my opinion and cost/hassle is not worth it. Both car and bike exhausts can be repacked and you DON'T have to repack your motorcycle exhaust, nothing will happen.

I think bike packing is generally a fiberglass cloth type packing which does not last as long as metal fiber or mesh packing. I'd guess they primarily do this on bikes to save weight.
