Road trip recommendations Raleigh, NC to FL

i'm going to be taking a road trip to pick up a car in Raleigh, NC and driving back to Miami. Hoping some locals from the areas along the way can provice some recommendations for good food and good roads.

the general route is basically i-95 all the way down. If there are some good roads along the way detours are certainly welcome. I'll probably stop in Savannah for a night (likely going to stop by a track day at Roebling).

any recommendations are appreciated.

There are a lot of good roads in the western part of NC (blue ridge mountains, ext) but that's about 2-3 hours west of Raleigh. In Raleigh itself depending on where your going to be there are lots of options for food. Downtown has a pretty vibrant food/music scene.

To be honest the trip is so straight forward I'm not sure what to tell you. I made it auagusta GA which is only 2 hours from there in 6 hours from miami.

Yeah, if you have the time, head to Asheville, NC. Check out the downtown area. The roads to and out of Asheville are great. In GA, GA60 & 128 are great roads. I just hit them other weekend. From there you can swing down to Savanna for a track day and 95 it the rest of the way.

Agreed with the above post. Once you get into FL it pretty much sucks most of the way down. If you can swing it, definitely hit Asheville, Robbinsville, and Tail of the Dragon; it'll be a detour and will be worth it.

The only thing I'd add is to check out Ocala National Forest, it's beautiful and there are some nice roads through / around there (by FL standards) - it's west of Daytona and north of Orlando, so it's easy to get there from I-95 and then hop down to Orlando on backroads, and hop on the Turnpike to Miami from there.

Just messing with you Trevor. Looks like you're nominated yourself to plan a meet...

Thanks for the recommendations supadude and ddk. It was a pretty time limited trip so couldn't make it to Asheville or tail of the dragon unfortunately. Would have been too much time in the wrong direction. Did get to spend some time in savannah though which was a fun town.

On my way out of the country for the next 10 days. Will text you when I'm back. But I'm useless with organizing anything.
