Aleks @ Alekshop

I had been meaning to visit Aleks for awhile, but I didn't know that he moved to Fremont from Pleasanton. I finally had the pleasure of meeting Aleks a few weeks ago and I will not be taking my car anywhere else to have work done. Now that I have visited his shop, I would have been willing to drive the extra stretch to Pleasanton to have him work on my car. Aleks is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what he does and it really shows.

Aleks lives and works by the motto "If you aren't going to do something right, it isn't worth doing". I can honestly say that I truly believe this is the case with him as showcased by his M3 GTS build. Aleks is a really friendly guy and eager to help with whatever project you may have in mind. I think he has me close to pulling the trigger on a set of BBS FI even though I already have 2 sets of wheels

Great guy that does great work and can source some hard to find, rare parts. I wouldn't hesitate to send ANYONE to him regardless of what kind of car they have and what they plan to do to it.

Aleks is very cool guy and he went out of his way twice to accomodate my work schedule on some wheels/tires. Only issue is that he balanced the tires incorrectly. Had to pay a different shop to fix it. Still I would probably go back.

I had a similar experience with a local shop. I can not comment on alex since I haver had the pleasure of working with him but I am sure he is great. These times if you are not passionate and skilled about what you do for living, success is not an option.
I met a BMW specialist at a local BMW meet. He is very skilled and knows his trade. He opened up a shop. I started dealing with him and was very pleased with his service and prices. A year later he is fully booked and getting something looked right away is just not an option. At this point is where most shops expend. Hire more man power and all problems start right away. Incompetence and lock of passion of behalf of his staff.
Sorry for sounding negative, but it just seems to be a catch 22. I heard Alex's name mentioned on the forum a few times now and that's is the best sign of success. Good luck to him and his shop.

I think quality can slip with growing companies, but I just can't see that happening with Aleks. He put his name on the shop because he is proud and passionate and not just all about money. He may be fully booked at time and you won't be able to get an appt right away, but he will do his best to get you in and do the job properly. That is something worth waiting for IMO.

Quick question. Do you have a boost gauge on your kit?

I've never met Aleks in person but with the way he does business you'd think he's a block away. Very smart and nice guy. He is a pleasure to chat with and do business with. His GTS project is inspirational. Thx Aleks D!

I hafta bump this thread after another visit to Alekshop. Aleks hooked me up installing 380mm Brembo GT front and rears. Aleks really is a "jack of all trades" as he can do all sorts of electrical wiring. The Stack gauge kit I was sold by another vendor came with wires that were way too short for the oil pressure sensor to be mounted. Aleks trimmed some unnecessary wires and extended the oil pressure sensor wires and fixed the problem in a matter of minutes.

Before I left, Aleks was nice enough to invite me to a private dyno day the next day, so I could finally see what kind of power my car was making. The torque number wasn't what we expected and Aleks and Roman @ ESS suspect a boost leak. Another vendor did my SC install, so Aleks will be doing a smoke test to see if I do in fact have a boost leak.

Aleks has been a pleasure to work with and getting to see his spectacular GTS build is a bonus. I love checking that car out, but my wallet doesn't. Aleks will be mounting BBS FIs on my car this upcoming week along with the smoke test. Hopefully I don't leave the shop with the Akra GT4 x-pipe haha.
