*** Official BimmerPost Photo Contest #43: No Humans Allowed ***

Official BimmerPost Photo Contest #43: No Humans Allowed

BACKGROUND:

After a bunch of very creatively defined themes I wanted something simpler that might encourage a bit broader participation. Let's see if it works.

THEME:

Photos must contain neither humans nor anything man made. So wildlife shots work and (most) landscape shots work, as would any number of other subjects. This is meant to be an inclusive theme. Just show us your best shots of the natural world.

Good luck!

IMPORTANT DATES:

Entries must be submitted to this thread no later than Saturday, October 15th @ 11:59 PST. Voting begins the following day and ends on Friday, October 21st.

RULES:

1. Any interpretation of the theme that falls within Bimmerpost.com rules is welcome.
2. You must be the person that took the photo. Previous photos are acceptable as long as you are the one that captured the image.
3. One submission per contest, and you cannot resubmit a photo that you've submitted before in a previous contest.
4. Images must be no larger than 800 px in any direction. Links to larger images are allowed but you must have one that is under 800 px for the poll.
5. All contestants must host their own pictures (which includes hosting them on Bimmerpost).
6. All images must have a title.
7. While post processing in Photoshop is allowed, adding or removing parts of the picture is not. In the event a photo is suspected to be "photo-chopped," the contestant will be asked to provide the original picture.

Dave, start thinking up the next contest theme now.

And check your dates, vachss. October 26th is a Wednesday. I take it you didn't want to have voting for 10 days.

Whoops, that's what I get for looking at last month's calendar. Fixed now.

Is cropping the picture allowed? Is this considered "photo-chopped"? I'm not familiar with that term. Thx

Thanks Mark, but my scenics aren't all that strong. I think there'll be lots of competition from both the scenics and wildlife.

If it's a scenic of the lake, then you're probably screwed, but if it's a duck or animal in or around the water and we can't see the dam, then I'd say it fits. The key will be that the lake isn't the main subject AND we can't see that it's manmade. If it's a cove of a manmade lake, then we're not going to know unless you tell us the lake's name and location.

Up and Up

I used the auto-align tool to put these two together, vertically. The panoramic automator couldn't align them properly.
