Summer MPG thread for E9X M3...

hey guys,
just throwing a question about E9X M3s MPG in summer mode

With AC running on 80~90% time of driving, how's your gas mileage in

1. City driving
2. Highway cruising

Thankfully my daily drive TSX gets 25~32mpg, but it kills me everytime i fill up my Range Rover Sport HSE.....~12~16mpg.

1500 miles
In Florida with a/c on all the time
16.7 Average with mostly City driving. I am able to get about 23 mpg if I baby it, but as soon as i drive it even remotely hard it drops down to 16+.

I'm planning a 1200 mile road trip in my E92 M3, all highway miles... How many miles I will get per fill up? I mean, has anyone clocked what computer gives them for highway driving when tank is full?

When I did similar trip in my 335i, every time I fill up,- computer would give me 500 mile range on highway. So, for 1200 mile road trip, I only had to stop for gas 3 times or so... But, how often would I need to look for gas station in an M3 (cruising speeds 75-85 mph)?

... I don't want to be looking for gas every 200 miles...

I live in LA and I've been blowing the A/C alot lately too as some others have mentioned before.

19.1 mostly hwy with some local driving here and there, but I'm pretty light on the throttle. Easy crusin' for me

thread highjack (sorry ): has anyone been experiencing hot oil temp.? my needle creeps over the 210 mark every now and then (more than usual on a normal car) and it kinda concerns me.

In mixed driving I get 18MPG. All highway I get 21MPG. These are actual calculated mileages, not what shows up on the computer. My car's computer is about 2MPG on the high side.

My car has about 500 miles now. Pretty hot but the humidity here has been crazy (monsoon season).

I'm running about 8-11 mpg.

Mine has all been DC abnormally hot weather driving -- 1600 miles total. Last three tanks averaged 10.1 gallons. Hoping for better after a few more break-in miles.

I have ~1800 miles on the car and do around 70% highway. First 1500 miles I was averaging between 12 and 13 mpg (got it in June, so the AC has been cranking since day 1). Now it is creeping up, and on my drive this morning (75 miles on the highway) I got 21 mpg!!

LOL

You will probably get worst gas mileage with your M3. By the way, 12-16 mpg is great for the almost 5,800 lb. RR HSE. One of my friends gets 8-11 mpg with the same model.

it seems like everyone getting 15~20 city/highway.
I know it's not a legit comparison (4.0 V8 8400rpm rev engine vs 3.2 Inlin-6), but if you guys have experience with E46 M3, how was its mpg?
or maybe current 335i vs E46 M3?

wow... I'm gonna miss my 335i on highway driving 500 miles per tank and lots of turbo torque but I'd rather drive the M3
