Has anyone in NJ been able to ...
place an order for the M3 yet? I am top on the list at Morristown BMW but according to the sales manager, so far they have had only one allocation for only one car back in Dec. The sales manager also told me that they had a significant delay in orders since a number of M3's had recently been damaged at a port in NJ. Now this is obviously bs since these cars were delaer demos, not orders. Could it be that certain dealerships still don't have allocations?

I'd say there is something funky going on if you are on top of the list and have not heard anything. They might be inserting people in front of you who might be willing to pay more than MSRP...
I was #4 at a small dealer and got my 111 on 1/28. That's BS about cars getting damaged and supply being affected significantly. Official memo says only 30 M3s were lost there, which were PR cars. I guess they still need to be rebuilt though. Regardless, they should be shipping 100s of M3s to the US per month soon. |

I was told that I was "in the top 5". Why are you considering to cancel your order?

Not sure if it's a small dealer. Anyone else know?
I do remember a previous post here saying that morristown BMW had told them that the first 5 will be sold over MSRP and then they will order according to waitlist. I can live with that but they seem to tell everyone something else... |

Do you know when they are expecting the first 5 M3's? I would like to go there and confront them with their misleading comments - if this turns out to be true...
By the way, I am waiting to place an order for a coupe, so we are on different wait-lists. |

about the coupe vs sedan thing. The sales manager said he could turn any coupe into a sedan and sedan into coupe so i think i'm at the end of the list after the coupes. I had heard on the phone back last year from an unnamed rep that the first few cars would be going at "what the market would bear." The manager and my sales rep assured me that this was not the case and that my order would be at msrp and when my turn came up I would be able to order. He said he was sure he could get me a car by some time in the spring. I called a few times and they didnt know anything about the launch, or about allocations, or about order sheets, or about specs. I know that the list for coupes is about 20, and my number for sedan is 2 so im probably somewhere around 20th in line.
I do keep getting phone calls from bmw manhattan asking if i want to buy a sedan but I keep playing phone tag with the guy. |

I feel like every time i post about being frustrated, the dealer calls me. He's probably reading this. Anyway, I was able to give him my information of what I want in the car and he told me it would be here mid-end of April. Perfect.
Motown BMW doesn't seem half bad. I was a bit skeptic at first since my rep (Pat Cianci) had moved on to another dealer but this new guy seems pretty good. |
