I love to see who the good guys are on this thread. It's fine if your gf or wife are just not good drivers, that's not what bothers me. What is amazing is some of your attitudes and disrespect towards women.

Unfortunately my wife can be a little oblivious. She's curb rashed every rim on our MDX and put the passenger's quarter panel into a concrete support while parking. She pretty much ignores road obstacles and just goes over them. If someone pulls quickly into the lane next to her from a side street she gets a little nervous and has been known to swerve (once into a garbage can resulting in a shattered side mirror).

When I call her out on the damage she replies: "that's a part of driving."
She owned a Toyota for years and never even changed the wiper blades. Maintenance is lost on her.

She has the MDX to protect her from herself. I fear she'd kill my poor baby.

no wife, but my gf has more mods on her car than i have on mine so i really never mind her driving my car. she is pretty clumsy though but like many of you already said - its just a car. and with her i know that if she breaks something she will get it fixed asap.

I was merely pointing out how sad your previous post was. Your mother should be proud of you today

Agreed. The M3 is my wife's car, so she can drive it however she wants. We got it for her because it is a fun car, and she loves driving it. As other's have said, it's a car. If it breaks, it can be fixed.

Offered to teach her but she declined. No argument from me.

My gf doesn't know how to drive a manual but if she did, it would be nice if we could both enjoy the beast.

Agree. My only rule for her is no coffee drinking in the car. She seems to spill it a lot and with all the crap it in it spills become sticky mess.

My best friend drives mine when we see eachother. She owned a lowered 135i before and now a new 328i, which is lowered. She knows how to drive a stick and she is careful with her car and mine. I trust her completely, so no rules needed. Just like she trust me with her car. I love to see more women driving/owning an M, nothing like a HOT woman driving a HOT car. My 0.02cents.

lady-friend doesn't even ask to drive, though if she could drive the 6mt I wouldn't really have a problem with it. I think she understands the difference between her FWD commuter and the M are drastic and she'd be careful (enough) with it.

From the sounds of it my wife is a better driver than most on this forum.
I have a DCT but she really good with the stick
Seriously though. I kicked it down to her and now it is our DD, grocery getter and kid hauler. I am not worried about her driving but only the others that might park next to her.

My wife has ripped the exterior mirrors off of every car she has driven from backing out of the garage (at $600 a pop) - to her its just a way to get from point A to B - nothing more-- and she's always late so in a rush and not paying much attention...

So - she doesn't drive the M...

I'm not kidding - eight mirrors, six years. The sad part is that she doesn't even realize when she does it. She got pulled over once with the mirror hanging from the wires slapping the side of the Tahoe - the cop thought she should know...

I got real good at replacing mirrors - Those Tahoe mirrors were the hardest to find - had to find heated, power, tow package (which means they stick out further - what the heck was I thinking?) with directionals built in in the right damn color on ebay -- because I wasn't paying what the stealer wanted for them new (four digits)....

But you are right - I don't get mad any more - I just get another mod for the current BMW...
