Offered trade for C63 AMG - Thoughts?

Hey guys, I currently have an '11 M3 which I love, but with all the talk of the C63 lately it has piqued my curiosity. So long story short, I went to my local dealer who had one in stock and was ultimately offered an absolute straight trade (my M3, for the C63 coupe) with zero out of pocket. The C63 has the following options:

S32 S32 COMAND Single Disc Package: 7.0" Hig $930
527 : COMAND System w/ Hard-Drive Navigation
396 : Voice Control
068 Wheel Locking bolts $140 07P Germany
218 Rearview Camera $460
319 Lighting Package: Bi-Xenon Headlamps $1,290
615 : Bi-Xenon Active Light System
608 : Intelligent Highbeam Control
600 : Headlamp Washing System
471 Limited Slip Differential Lock $2,030 736 Black Ash Wood Trim
795 18" AMG Twin 5-Spoke Alloy Wheels
889 KEYLESS-GO $650
993 Lane Tracking Package: Blind Spot A $850
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only options are my M3 are carbon fiber trim and then convenience pkg. What are your thought on this? Should I pull the trigger?

Thanks!

Couple of thoughts...

1. If you drive both you will know which one you prefer and should own. Who cares what we think.
2. As noted, too bad it doesn't come with the P31 package
3. Something is odd with the pricing. A new C63 is as much or more than an M3 in the US. How can you be getting an even deal. Is the C63 a demo or used? I don't see how the deal is possible otherwise... a USED M3 with minimal options has to have less value than a NEW C63 with decent options.
4. I would not trade the M3 for a C63 just because of attention the car is getting here. If you don't find it compelling after driving it, keep the M3!!

P31 package would of made it one sweet deal. Don't do it in any case, unless you really love that car.

Yeah I'm kind of disappointed that it doesn't have the P31, it does have the LSD at least, lol.

comparing new C63 to used M3 price, it appears you are on the better end of this deal. which kinda makes it sound like something is up. are the C63's not selling, or getting heavily discounted from MSRP? is that particular model colored shit brown or something?

MSRP is 67,855. The car is a demo being sold as new with 1,100 miles on it.

I now have the c63 coupe, it's been with me for 1 week. Both are great cars. To much fun from both cars. M3 is more focused. Better to make perfect drifts and connected drifts on small track. Because u have the engine power under ur feet, and u can simply control it easily. The higher ur rpm revs, the faster the car is, or the bigger drift angle gets. As for the c63, it's brutal, drifting on a small track is very hard. The sudden torque gets u spinning right away. On normal driving, the c63 feels faster because of the torque at low rpm. It just kicks u back. Similar to the feeling in my alpina b3 biturbo. C63 feels faster yet in the race i posted a few months ago, I pulled on the c63 more than 4 or 5 cars. The seats in the m3 are more comfortable for longer trips. Both have harman kardon Sound system but in my m3 it is better, maybe because of the two subwoofers under each seat. steering feel in m3 is better. Dct in m3 is better, though the dct in c63 is a huge improvement over the normal 2011 and bellow c63. Stock exhaust on c63 is ten times better than the stock m3 exchaust. Though my exhaust now is 100 times better
In the c63, u don't have to juice the engine to get the power. It's there on low rpm. In the m3, u must be on the right gear and right rpm to get it moving. This is why the m3 is known as "best drivers car", anyone can race a c63 and go fast. Not everyone can properly race an m car. Many m5 owners that I know lose to stock c63. I made some of them meet again, an I was behind the wheel, the m5 shined like it should
C63 looks beautiful in some angles. M3 is beautiful in all angles

Now, if someone can own both, it would be great because the c63 is so much fun and the low end torque keeps the driver happy
But if I had to choose one, it will be the m3.

I'd keep the M3, especially since it's a 2011. I doubt you've driven it long enough to appreciate it and in a couple thousand miles or so, you'll probably love it too much to give it up.

The fact the dealer would go even up on this deal speaks volumes to which is the better choice...and the one I'd keep.

How long have you had the M? I'd probably do it if it had the PP.

Impossible to conclude this based on what we know. I still also think something is missing but, regardless, if a MB dealer is willing to do the trade it has zero to do with what car is better. Maybe it says the M3 has better resale but that is it. Even that doesn't make sense. A MB dealer willing to buy a used M3 with limited options (making it hard to sell) in an even swap for a demo C63 which, for a MB dealer, would be easier to move.

I'm not suggesting the OP is being dishonest but something is fishy here and I bet more to the story than the dealer is saying... what is in it for the dealer? Let's see... take a demo car (the brand you actually sell) and swap it for a used, base level car (of a brand you don't sell). What's in it for them... it's not like they can sell a limited option M3 for a huge profit over what they are giving up. The only thing that might make sense is if there is a BMW dealership in the same group of companies and they need to get an M3 for someone who is looking for one. Otherwise, the deal itself makes little sense... anyway, off topic and not relevant to the OP.

money aside, I feel like the only 2 options I look for in the C63 would be P31 or LSD. Track performance-wise, non-P31 C63s are on par with DCT M3s, so it wouldn't be a significant performance upgrade to go to a C63.

At the end of the day, it's all about what car you enjoy driving the most. If I were in your situation, I would not take the depreciation hit on the M3 for this C63 without the P31.
