2012 M3 on BMW website when?

Does anyone know when you will be able to build a 2012 M3 coupe on the BMW website?

I was hoping they would update their website by now. If you cant order a 11' anymore what is the point of having the it up there, especially when the 12' specs and prices are out already. I want to get one but I want to build it up first and not have to mess with the dealers. I hope they don't wait till 1 Sep when the actual car is starting to be produced. People already have 12' slots.

I bet the web configurator will go live on Sept. 1. That way BMW can also release the financing options at the same time.

They keep the 2011s on there, because there are still some on dealer lots, so it could be helpful for someone looking to buy one already at a local dealer.

Well it is the 3rd and they still have not updated the website. I thought the 2012's started production on the 1st. Maybe not.

The builder is currently not working, so maybe they are updating right now.

So, now it is well into Oct. and the website is still not updated for the 2012 models. The 2011's are not even being built anymore. I think for over a month now. You would think they would have the 2012 M3's loaded on the website so we can see what people have or want to order. I know it is not to far off from the 2011's but some things have change and prices. Come on BMW get on with it!!!

You don't need the website to "build" the 2012 you want. The prices and new package prices are listed on this site so you can essentially tally up whatever you want in your car and there you have it. The only thing you do not get is the little picture of the car and the ability to click and have the computer add the price for you. A calculator will suffice.

If you are waiting to order a new 2012 but have not yet because the website config is not up is pretty silly. Just add it up with the numbers listed on this site which are accurate. Then go to some dealers with the exact options you want and the price you want to pay. No different than configuring it online

Why not build a 2011 before the assembly line is changed over to the 2012 model year? It is not wise to purchase a car in the first model year ... if then wait for the following year unless you are superstitious and don't like to drive a 2013 production model hehehehe

In all seriousness my friend why not a late 2011?

Yes - at least 6 weeks later than you should be able to. That's the standard formula for BMW NA. Note that other countries and regions have the configurator up long before the car goes on sale (crazy bastards).

The 2011 line has been closed for like a month or 2 now. I thought everyone knew that.

I just want to be able to see it. Plus the prices and packages are different. Not by much but they are. The base price alone is a $1000 more. Which all of this is not reflected on the site.

Is that so, I was not aware of it, was it the end of September? ... thanks for the heads up.

My only issue is I've yet to see a great deal on a dealer stock 2011
I paid around or just under invoice for my 2012
The only way I'd consider a 2011 is if it was well below that
Otherwise why not order my very own 2012 to my EXACT specifications?
If they offer the 2011 to you at say 1000 below invoice (unlikely)
your resale will be at least 5-8K less than a 2012 come resale time
So what good was that extra 1000 saving then?

with my 08
I was going to order one
But I found a dealer up in Buffalo, NY that had exactly what I wanted
Only thing extra was sat radio.
But I think there are a lot less 2011s remaining now

Huh? You do know that the 2012 is the same as the 2011, right?

I don't think my dealer has any 2011 inventory sitting around. Don't think I saw any M3s on the lot - even the Dakar yellow one that was in front - last time I visited.

What?

I wouldn't buy a first production year e9x M3 as in a 2008. But anything like a 2010, 2011, etc BMW has done its LCI and matured the model.

There shouldn't be anything wrong with buying a e9x 2012 - its the same care that uses the same production line.

I see I got that mixed up, I think the new M3 series may get a a 6 CL and twin turbo yes? sometime in 2014?

I am not up to date on that since I plan to keep my e92 2011 for quite a spell.
