Album Art for music loaded to glovebox HD
I managed to copy all my MP3s to a USB flash drive and import them to the BMW hard drive in the glove box. They play fine, but the album art doesn't display.
Now, when I plug my Iphone to the armrest USB via the white usb cable, they also play and display the album art which looks really nice. I don't want to take my iphone out of my pocket each time I get in and out of the car, so could I just buy a cheap iPod like the nano of something and permanently leave it in the armrest? There are so many different ways to listen to music in this car that I end up not listening to anything because I can't decide which method to pick. |

I have a 160gb iPod Classic that stays in my armrest at all times, album art works great too. I can also connect my iPhone via Bluetooth or using the Media Cradle if I want to listen to tunes that way but 99.9% of the time it is via iPod.

I think tlp mentioned that his album art shows up if you use Window Media player to create your playlists.

I ended up storing my music files on a small USB thumbdrive that I keep permanently plugged into the Armrest USB port and it works great and all the album artwork now works. Make sure your music files do have the artwork embedded into them. If you purchased the music from Itunes, it should, but if you downloaded them elsewhere they may not have the artwork embedded.

From what I have gathered on another thread, all flash drives are not created equal so it could be an issue with the one you have. IIRC, using a high speed one is preferred.

Sorry to bring up a old thread, but a regular USB cable that comes with the iPhone/iPods doesn't work in neither one of the USB ports on the car? Im trying to import or even play music from my iPhone 4 through the regular White USB cable but to no avail....? My m3's a 6/10 built as a 2011.
