Michelin Pilot Super Sport and One Lap of America
With the buzz surrounding the Pilot Super Sport, I have received a couple of questions about whether the Super Sport will be available in time for One Lap of America. Here is the info I received from one of the gentlemen who oversees the tire program for OLoA:
"Michelin’s originally U.S. ETA for the Pilot Super Sport line is May 1, 2011. We have requested Michelin advance availability to April 1, 2011 to support OLoA competitors, however we have not received their confirmation they can accommodate us. If Michelin’s originally planned U.S. ETA of May 1, 2011 remains in place, the Michelin Pilot Super Sport will NOT be approved for use in OLoA for 2011. We hope to have an answer from Michelin in the coming weeks." So I would take that to mean that there is an outside chance it could happen, but it is by no means a sure thing at this point.
