Am I the only member on this forum that risks getting at least one ticket every time I jump into it? Or is it by happenstance that when people are selling their cars they suddenly have memory loss? With that being said I can't stop looking at Last NA Mineral white 2011 with fairly low mileage. Now that car does look like it's never been raced. Unfortunately my budget does not reflect the beauty of that car. So luckily I will end up with a "never raced" E92 with 70,000 miles for $30,000. Anyone else on here who "never races or redlines?"

Also, OP, I will be 100% honest in telling you the following about my M3 (which is for sale, by the way):

1. It has seen redline plenty of times, and it was worth it every single time.
2. It has been to the track about a dozen times, and it was worth it every single time.
3. Neither #1 or #2 above has caused a problem.

I bought the car to drive it, not to live in a state of paranoia like some people on here.
Yep I have seen it, if I recall you just bought a Vette. Fancy!

Every used car I have been offered was "hardly driven, driven by a woman - an executive or elderly woman-, was a commuter, mainly driven on the highway and never tracked."

The used car salesman speech is like hearing your new flame say, 'I only went out with a couple of people before meeting you, and it was mainly dinners and light conversation.'

So here is what to say when selling a used car privately: , 'this was never tracked, never redlined, never had an accident and also I personally never speed.'

As long as you like the used car and want to own it that is fine, and forget what you are told about its history. If you do not agree then buy another car or simply order a new one and baby it.

So I bought the car from a little old lady who lives in Pasadena...she never drove the car hardly at all and when she did it was only close in trips to the neighborhood market to get her poor dog a bone. I never drive the car over 3,000 rpm, until recently I was stopped by a motorcycle cop. He ask me do you know why I stopped you? I said No Sir, I don't. He said I stopped you because you were driving that car TOO SLOW. He said he was a BMW aficionado, and if I didn't "open that bytch up, and drive it like I stole it" he'd give me a ticket for impersonating a m3 owner. I thanked him for the warning and drove off. Now I've taken his advice and take it up to 4,000 rpm!

Yep, try to have a serious discussion about the rising cost of home ownership due to the fed lowering the rate and this is what we get, SMH.

What was a huge benefit for me was getting my car from a member on the forum. Being able to go back through 6 years worth of posts was pretty invaluable in getting some color on the car's history, a pretty candid account of how it was treated, and just a better sense of the personality of seller. Also gave me the peace of mind that he had been straight forward about everything from our first meeting, since nothing came up that he hadn't told me about in person

I would be in one right now if they were four seaters. I have owned many but it's tough being three of us. You have a nice combo. Considering the write up on the M4 I can see why you didn't go that route. Disastrous.

How about the next time some seller is saying they never red-lined or raced...you respond with, "So, you just drove the car to be a poser?"

I look forward to your comparison of the Vette vs. M.

I test drove a beautiful 2017 M4 ZCP in Sakhir Orange. Very capable car and definitely a step up from my E90, but I had two gripes: traction and price.

There's no denying the F80 has way more power than my E90, but even with the 20" tires it was tough to put the power down in the first two gears...in a straight line. From about 65mph+, the power is just endless. I take my car to the track so having controllable power is pretty important.

The price was an issue, too. Once optioned the way I want it, the M4 car was well into Corvette Grand Sport territory. At that point, I said, "well shit, for the same money I can have the Corvette."

I didn't have any issues with the "boring" engine or "numb" electric power steering. I thought it sounded pretty good and had acceptable steering feel. The journalists just love perpetuating those memes. 9/10 people wouldn't even know it was EPS, if I had to guess.

I 100% redline my car daily. I track it as often as I have time too (4-5 times a year) and change the fluids regularly. This car is exceptional!
