Best smoke odor elimination method

So bought an E90 M3, turns out it was smoked in. Dealer masked the smell during test drives

Did some research and I know that I'll never be able to get the smell out completely, so just looking for the biggest bang to take the majority of the smell out.

The car was already "detailed" by the dealer (every surface wiped, carpets shampooed, etc).

Tried, baking soda, coffee grounds, and dryer sheets. Not noticeable impact.

Here's the plan:
1. Replace the cabin filter
2. Clean all surfaces with a steamer. Seats, carpets, headliner, dash, windows, doors.
3a. Fabreeze on carpets and headliner
OR
3b. Sprinkle baking soda on carpet, wait a few hours, and vacuum.
4a. Dakota Products Non-Smoke bomb.
OR
4b. Ozone generator for a few hours

How does that look? Any experience with Dakota Products non-smoke or Ozone Generators?

Try zeolite it's cheap and will completely remove smoke odor, best part is its reusable. It's some sort of volcanic rock, u put a bag of that in ur car with the windows up and let it work it's magic. If u google zeolite u should be able to find it

The solution for your problem...........costs nothing ?!?!
Put a glass full of vinegar all night in your car,close all windows, and repeat this 3 nights !

Don't forget to replace cabin filter.

Also, open can of ground folgers works too, especially if u luv smell of coffee.

I used auto shocker in the past. Car smelled like chlorine afterwards for a few days. Overall I think it helped. I topped that off with coffee and that together did it for my car.

I guess that could be the case. But my friends and passengers never notice/mention it. And I have plenty of friends who would tell me.

So I replaced the cabin filter, did the coffee grinds, baking soda, and ozium spray. There's an improvement, but I think the smell is still there. The smell of coffee and cleaning products is confusing me.

I think a thorough steam cleaning and time will do the rest. Will spring for an ozone generator to finish it off if it still bothers me.

Don't use ozone in a vehicle with natural rubber, it will deteriate them. Look up your closest restoration company, and ask to rent a Hydroxyl Generator. High levels of artifical ozone will crack what ever is natural rubber in the car.
