They get rid of the excess paint by wet sanding, covering with a touch of clear (or not), then polishing. If this wasn't on an edge, it's relatively easy to DIY. Not that you'd want to DIY on your new car, but I mention that to illustrate how easy it is to make something like this look normal again. On a corner like that, it's more difficult to make it look perfect, but it still shouldn't be too hard for a paint chip guy to fix. I'd go ahead and ask the dealer for some assistance with this.
