i'd like to jump into a P car. I plan on keeping the M3 for 6-8 years though, so won't sell until 2016-2018 time frame. I only have 23k miles on it thus far.

After another year of the M3 I'm going to look into a 997 Turbo. I would love a GT2 but that's probably wishful thinking.

If I had to jump into another car today-it would be the 2013 GT500. Its perfect for 98% of the driving I do. For the $, no other car offers the HP/TQ value as that beast. In addition to the fact that its cooler than the M3 by spades.

Add a Rouche package to that and you have a beast of car.

after seeing the new concept coupe, M4 is looking so good as well as 991 C2s, plus CGT as always. :-)

Good question. Mine is a 2011 that I have had for almost 2 years. Given that I just put one child through school, have a second that just started and two more starting next year chances are I will be keeping my M3 for another 6 years.

Who knows what will come after the M3; but it will likely be more of a true sports car.

Ahhhhhhh, if not for paying college tuitions I could have had a 458, 911 Turbo S, AND an Aston Martin DBS....REALLY!

lol. yeah you should code name your kids 458, 911 turbo S and DBS. Remind them you gave up those cars for them so they better get an education.

My daughter's goal is medical school then a specialization in pediatric cardiology. I have explained to her that after she succeeds her reward to me is a Ferrari an a promise to never put me in a "home".

I am too middle-aged to get away with a purpose-built sports car. I will look like a d-bag midlifecrisiser tooling around in anything like that.

That's why the M3 is perfect for me, and since it's the last NA, I will be holding on to it. At some point the temptation to SC will probably become overwhelming, but not for a long time.

I sort of like the collectibility of the M Coupe (either series), but an E46 M3 in good nick looks sooooooo tasty. I'm sometimes tempted to give up my '79 Euro for one of those. I would have to factor in whether Max plans to keep EDA Motors in McLean going for several more years, so I have somebody to maintain one. Owning older BMWs can be like boat ownership in terms of cost.

I'm going to give BMW a long time to work out its turbos before I join that party. But my wife drives the lesser 3er's, and she's due to rotate before long, so she might make the leap. But she thinks the N52 engine is over-power for the E90, so the prospect of a 4-cylinder backwash blender doesn't worry her in the least.

I'm toying with the idea of going with the M2 come 2015 or whenever it is available.

I'm still infatuated with my 2013 at the moment. I the sound so much... moving on to a turbo four or six cylinder kinda annoys me.
