Sedan plus DCT option????

Has anybody heard any news about sedan plus DCT option???? I am still waiting to know when this will be available. I am still hoping June/July.

I haven't ordered yet...even though I want to...dealer can't put a sedan with DCT in right now...but I was guranteed I could recieve it by June 15th. We shall see...

June 15th would be GREAT. I've heard mid May builds, first week of July delivery. I'll post more info if I get update after BMW reps visit dealer this week.

Well, my current lease ends June 15th. I would be happy with first week of July though...

I just want to order it so I can stop checking this board every 5 seconds!

Same problem here...dealer cannot select the "DCT option" as "the button is GONE from the BMW server". I inquired with him Friday and he emailed the production rep...I requested a "build date or delivery date" to try to get them to pin down when they plan on producing a M3/4 w/ DCT. I will reply here when I get word. June 15 sounds good though. Gives me time to sell my car and also, my B-Day is in June... woo hoo

I am in the same boat as you...hoping to see something here like "Sedan with DCT ordered and and in production!". lol

Spoke to my dealer yesterday and he also confirmed that M3 sedan is not orderable with DCT option. He says the system goes out to late april for allocations so I am crossing my fingers for early May.

As soon as someone gets an order through the system, please share it with the rest of us!

That's basically what my guy told me...

I hope to hear something more concrete soon. I will let you know what I find out.

My dealer placed the order for allocation and then said that he would wait and see what BMW returns. I guess we would know by March 14th. I agree, I just want to get the order in so I can quit worrying about it!

I spoke with the dealership the other day and he got word from the ordering czar (some rep from BMW NA) that it would be early June production...but who knows for sure....I aint counting my chickens yet.

I did confirm that I am first inline for a sedan with DCT, so as soon as I hear something, I will post...

That confirms what we've been hearing on the forum from multiple sources for a while. Limited coupe only production March-May and then full production starting in June.

but it does not provide final production date.......my dealer gave me printout with a date of 6/23/2008 with 'Req. Prod.' but it was status 037

I also have a copy of the Vehicle Inquiry Report for my E90 order that has DCT on it in status 037. So I think the system takes the order, it just won't go past 037 right now.

You status won't change until a week or two prior to production.

Hmm. My dealer cannot even select the DCT option with a sedan...thus, it aint "ordered" yet. I think the D in DCT really stands for DELAYED! LOL Or maybe it should just be DDCT.

Coolness..... The BMW server took my order today for a sedan w/ DCT. So I am status 037 as well.

He did not that he recieved a bulliten from BMW TODAY that stated that sedans with DCT would begin production "in June". That is all for now...I will try to obtain said document and scan it.

Congrats on getting the order in. At least we are making a little progress!!

Would love to see that document when you get a chance. It's always nice to see something "official" than just relying on dealer word of mouth!

He would not release the document to me because of the confidentiality clause in it...he doesn't want to get fired over a piece of paper... I don't blame him!

However, this is what I did find out:

BMW Bulletin 08-M3-05 was originated on 01/16/2008 and re-distributed yesterday (3/24/08) to all BMW Dealers in the Region by the Regional Manager to answer questions and concerns regarding availability of DCT's.

“Limited March to May production of the M DKG Drivelogic transmission will be available in the M3 Coupe only. Production of the transmission for the M3 Sedan will start in June. There are no production limitations expected for the second half of 2008.”

So, it sounds like BMW is reaffirming thier position that the sedan with DCT will not be produced until June. It appears that the shortcomings of supply of the trannies will be worked out by June. I would guess that BMW again met with the manufacturer of the trannies and confirmed that supplies would be sufficient by June...re-releasing the memo confirms, to me, that what they were originally told by the manufacturer will hold true....that there will be a sufficient supply of DCT trannies by June, and that BMW is giving preference of those trannies to the coupe until the supply is sufficent enough to put it in whatever the customer wants.

I will share more if I hear anything different....

edit: I added 19's to my order. I figured what the hell. lol After looking at pics side by side of the 18s and 19s, I prefer the 19's. To each his own I guess.

I just received the same news today. June production date, late July or early August delivery. I also was told that 2009 models would build in October. Is it better to wait for the 2009 model if it is just a few more months?
