Need Help Identifying a Brace

I bought an extra stock exhaust to modify ACM style. Awesome sound, btw.

This is on a 2011 e93 M3. I bought it last year (CPO, btw) and have done very little in the way of mods. So this being the first time under my car, I was very surprised to find this:

Can anyone identify the brace? Is it custom?

Well the fact that what you have on your whip slipped by the stealership is just ludicrous! I can't say it surprises me though. How many techs are legit these days at all the stealership brands......maybe 25% of them at any given store? Any ways.....your welcome dude. If the welds are good, that looks like mild steal or chromoly by my guess. It also looks like great bracing! I don't want to blow a whistle but I've never seen a BMW OEM part of that design. I'd look for tracking signs on that car.....scratched bolts on typical service points. Brakes, suspension, scrape points and extensive rubber in the wheel wells.

Not standard on e92 but I have never been underneath an e93.

Convertibles have added bracing. I noticed this brace under an E93 recently. Whether it would help an E90 or E92 is unknown. Good question. Adds weight, which generally reduces performance.
