Stoptech 380 OEM wheels

Will the 380MM stop-tech BBK, 6 piston, fit the OEM wheels? I have an 09 E92 with 19" OEM wheels.

Follow up question. I'm not an expert driver, not racing, but 5 - 10 track days per year. Will the 4 piston set be more than adequate, meaning, is the 6 piston just overkill?

Gonna need to be more specific on what wheels you have. But they clear zcp 359 wheels I only had to rebalance my wheels because the wheel weights would've hit the caliper. I believe they claim to clear most 19" most people will probably say 4pot is enough if your car is relatively stock but it's up to you if you wanna spend the extra $6-700 for the st60

I'd get the 4 piston set. The 6 piston just adds expense. There may be a minimal performance advantage...I don't think many will notice.

The OE 18s will clear an ST60 kit with a spacer. I run square 219M rears with no spacers...it barely clears the ST60s kit and you will need to out the wheel weights against the back of the spokes.

I'm heavily leaning towards the 4 piston kit now. I'm not an expert racer, I only do 20 - 30 minute sessions, etc. And why worry about needing yet another set of wheels.

Turner has 20% off the kits, so I can buy front and back for under $5k.

That's what I would do if I could do it again. Its way cheaper to run an ST40 kit plus you can rotate the pads front to rear if needed. You really give up very little in terms of performance.

I would do st40 all around as well if I was doing it again.

The e92 uses hardly any rear brakes so swapping front to back would be really cost efficient. Especially when good track pads are $300 plus an axle.

The ST40 pads are cheaper and usually more available. The ST40 caliper is also easier and faster on the pad changes since the bridge is flat, hast two less bridge bolts and has no spring tension.

I'm convinced. Going with ST40.

Dunno. But the dust tastes like cancer.

I like railing the brake dust off the spokes. Makes lining them up so much easier.

I just need to find a good shop in south Florida now. My regular shop, whom I generally really like, insists I buy the kit from them and they are marking it up over $1200 more than I can buy the brakes for on Turner. This is just for the parts. Why would I pay $1200 more for the same part? Is this normal? Do all shops do this?

Definitely not normal. Buy the parts yourself and have them install it or find a new shop.

Abnormal. They're trying to rip you off. Drop this shop for all future work.

Try Active Autowerkes which is in Miami.

The brakes are currently being installed by Active Autowerke. Went with the ST60's as they do fit with my wheels. Seems like a great place, met up with Andrew and we decided to do a couple other little upgrades to the car..... stay tuned :: wink ::
