Carbon Black v. Jerez Black
Anyone have any pics comparing these two colors side by side? If things go well for me to close out the year, I would love to pick up a new 2012 Individual Carbon Black E92 M3 ZCP with Rust Brown interior (or Portland Brown if available). But is it worth the extra money for Individual Carbon Black when Jerez Black is almost the same? If anyone has a friend with a CB E46 M3 or E63 M6 or E39 M5 or E65 Individual 7 series and can get a pic of that color next to their Jerez Black E9X M3, i would greatly appreciate it.
I get the feeling Carbon Black is more blue, which is what I would want: I believe this is carbon black But then Jerez Black looks blue too?

I used to have a Carbon Black E46 M3 with Cinnamon and I really loved that combo, and still I do very much. However I picked Jerez Black (with Rust Brown) for my 2012 M3 as I do not see the $5000 difference from Carbon Black.
I only can see a $550 difference... |

Good point, Technic. If I'm going to do an Individual Color, why not do something different. The two colors are very similar, but I do love that more bluish look to CB in sunlight. I also think it's more of a non-metallic paint, whereas JZB is more metallic...

I think you should go for the midnight blue. That will probably get you the right amount of blue/black combo you want.

Borrowing pics from Atomic 80 that were taken at the recent car show up here, we can really see the difference between the two colors in sunlight:
Jerez (Bapesta206's sick car) Carbon Black (not sure who's E39 M5) I think Technic was right, Carbon Black is more metallic. And yes, it's also more blue... Same conclusion though : not worth the Individual upcharge for CB.

They look very different yet similar at the same time, does that even make sense?! I would (personally) choose Jerez Black seeing as you wouldn't be paying any additional charges

If you are thinking of paying $5000 for Carbon Black when Jerez is available for $600 you are smoking the best crack America has to offer. The colors are virtually identical. I owned a 2006 Carbon/Red and now I own 2011 Jerez/Red. I have no idea what the difference is. If someone says Carbon is more blue, I cannot tell. And I've OWNED both.

So true though. I cannot for the life of me tell the difference - Seen both side by side in showroom.

Jerez is definitely more black. A buddy of mine has an E46 M3 in CB while mine is JZB. JZB also looks violet under certain lights which makes the color look very exotic. JZB is probably my favorite color I've had on any car I've owned.

I get that Carbon is more blue and Jerez is more black, I'm just saying the colors are far too similar to pay Individual Paint price.
