Blinder Laser Diffuser

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone has experiance with these units? Are they about the best you can get currently? And do they work with all of the laser guns in the uk?

Cheers

The "Laser Interceptor" is better. Check it out here.

Oooh. Ive had a look at that. They did the comparisson with a Blinder M25. I think the the M27 is alot better? Its got 8 diodes in each unit... Dunno if that helps alot though?

Cheers

So if you had the choice now you'd go for the Laser Interceptor?

Bit confused because the blinder is a newer unit and it can be programmed for England...Europe etc...Would of thought it would of been the top unit.

Who tested it? I generally put greater stock in the Guys of Lidar tests but they haven't tested the M27 AFAIK. Last year, the LI beat all other units including the M25 in their testing.

Eight diodes seems like overkill. Seriously, even the standard LI is good enough compared to the HP LI units. What you're looking for is not just the intensity of the lasers but also being able to detect LIDAR and being able to modulate the diodes so the LIDAR units don't sense jamming. By having two diodes per unit you can realize both horizontal and vertical polarizations for jamming and I'm not really sure that really buys you much, but I could be wrong. I think with eight diodes you're just getting a stronger jamming signal. One thing for sure is that you really do get better jamming with two units vs. one.

Another consideration which depends on LE where you drive is rear protection. You need two units up front and two behind if that's the case.

There are more considerations though before you even think about jamming. First a good detector is in order. A CB is the next best thing. Scanners help a bit but for other reasons are not nearly as effective as detectors and CBs. However, a Bearcat BCT-7, BCT-8 or BCT-15 has a pretty neat feature they call BearTracker. When it detects a mobile repeater frequency being used it alerts. It's not foolproof -- the LEO needs to have his repeater on and the system needs to be transmitting -- but in my experience it seems pretty reliable when an alert is sounded.

You also need to develop strategies and good practices like looking far ahead, take no alert for granted, learn and be wary of where and how LEOs hide, and use rabbits.

Hope this helps.

Merry Christmas.

Right now I would go with the LI. The new Blinder may be as good or better but I haven't seen any reviews yet. The LI works in Europe and England too.

Oh, one other thing, there is that bit with the patent infringement case. Look it up.

Not too sure now. But it wasnt a test between the M27 and other brands. It was just saying that the M27 is much better than the M25..

Ill prob go for the LI if you all recommend it
