My take is he got the term "Ricer" and the term "4 banger" mixed up. Which is still a fail because the 128 is a 6.

Who cares about some term that some kids made up. In 10 or 15 years it'll be called something else, that will sound just as stupid..

i agree with that statement. However, you have to realize that when you get a mustang you are sacrificing handling and braking performance. This is from experience. I have a mustang and a 1 series currently. At around 70-80 mph my mustang feel very unsafe and that im actually floating off the road in comparison to the 1 series which i do 100 mph without me realizing it.

bmw is not a ricer, but it can be made into one with mods, not to point any fingers but plenty of people even on this forum are crossing the line and making their bmws look like ricers with distasteful after marker parts

There are plenty of people with BMW's who are ricers. In fact, this forum is full of these people. People who buy $4000 wheels and wrap them with $500 tires, people who put aero kits on otherwise stock cars, people who put cheap coilovers on their cars. Hell, go to wheeldude.com and look at a lot (not all, but a lot) of the cars in there....cars completely slammed with wheels tucked. Rice, pure and simple.

I've been buying, modifying, selling cars for the past 10 years...everything from RX-7s to Evos to Supras to BMWs....there are always ricers around, doesn't matter the brand.

Why not?

Anyhow, to set the record straight, go here:

http://www.riceboypage.com/

"Rice-Boy is a stereotype. The typical Rice-Boy can be identified by his car, or rather what he does to it. Generally, Rice-Boy will start out with a car that was not meant to go fast (typically a Honda Civic), and attempt to "fix it up," usually consisting of aftermarket rims, lowering springs and an aftermarket exhaust system with a large exhaust tip.

"What sets apart Rice-Boys from normal performance enthusiasts is that they are more concerned with the image of speed than they are about actual performance.

"It's not so much that Rice-Boy is trying to make his car look good. There are lots of people out there who just want to make their car look good, and don't care about speed at all. Rice-Boy, however, says that he is making his modifications to enhance his car's performance, when really, all he cares about is fitting some sort of image. For example, he may lower his car, saying that it is for a lower center of gravity, and thus, better handling, but if he doesn't do a good job of it (i.e., his car is bouncing around from his shocks being able to handle the higher spring rates... or he cuts his springs making his car uneven) then we know that really, he cares more about looking low then he does about better cornering."

.................................

This website was originally posted in the early '90s and was the origin of the term Ricer. Rice Rocket had been around before, but was a term given to Japanese motorcycles by riders of American and British bikes.

BTW, Bryan, who started that page, is Asian.
