PCD Question

Why would a CA try talking a person out of a PCD pickup, mine did yesterday.
Gave me a cock and bull story about another customer showed up, and
that customers car had hail damage and BMW never advised anybody including the dealership.

Client was pissed and canceled the order I was told.

Or is it another reason I am trying to be talked out of it, Any ideas ?

Thanks for any input.

No idea why a CA would try to talk you out of it, but another member on here definitely reported hail damage during his PCD.

Thank you, that guy was happy as a clam. doesn't sound like the story my CA was telling me. Does the dealer lose money if you take the PCD, and do you know if you would get your car sooner or later with the PCD?

Thanks again for your help

i got the same scare, mine had hail damage along with a couple of others on here. PCD was all over it, BMW had flown a team in and they wouldn't let any vehicle leave unless it was repaired to their satisfaction. they were very good about it. but i guess it depends on how bad it was whether or not i was going to walk...

to be honest, the pcd center needs a covered facility to prevent this.

No, dealer does not lose money, but the CA may think they are getting less. Yes, you will take delivery of your car later, but it's worth it.

I wanted to do PCD with my '02 M3 but couldn't swing the time off. Hopefully, I'll get another chance.

What's PCD all about? Can you just take delivery of ur car at the dealer and just go to the center for one of their trainings another time? I mean, you can't push your car before the break-in period ends anyways.

You can probably go see the factory any time and you can take the training later. But you'll pay for the training, and during PCD you get to drive their M3s, not your own. Plus, they'll feed you, put you up for the night and treat you real nice during the delivery. How many dealers can match that?
