With all due respect, this exercise is pointless. Top Gear (especially the episode they had in Ascari Circuit, Spain), 5th Gear, and all bunch of car magazines allready covered this.

On the straights, C63 is better. In terms of engine noise, it is better. And as usual, Mercedes is more luxury based and has more "class".

On the corners M3 is better. In terms of race car feel, M3 engine is better. It is more sports car oriented.

So what the forum wars will result? Are we gonna take the result of forum wars even though they're the opposit of all these car shows & magazines?

It's to see which forum can not only run their mouths, but run their cars.

It is an online race television show brought to you by The SPEED channel, and Royal Purple. It is rival cars, forums and real owners battling it out against eachother.

Still pointless. It is done in only one location. So it represents hardly anything. If it was done in Germany or California, I could understand. Or at multiple locations.

Also, C63 guys can speak all day and night, M3 handles better. Similarly, M3 guys can speak all day and night, C63 is faster on the straigts...

I don't know where that misconception comes from? A 6MT is slightly slower However, stock versus stock I have tons of videos (although, street racing so cannot post) where it has been proven M3 with M-DCT and launch control is actually a tad quicker than C63 in the straight line drag racing.

Where was M-DCT directly matched up in a comparo with C63?? All of the comparisons are against 6MT. Yes, against RS5 and CTS-V by MT and C&D against M3 (remember, the infamous 3.9 sec 0 - 60 mph and 12.4 secs 1/4 mile). However, I have yet to see C&D, R&T or MT match up M-DCT M3 against a C63 in a comparo head to head. Why don't you enlighten me then??

M-DCT is compared with 6MT though:

Compare that to the six-speed manual’s numbers of 4.3, 12.8 at 113, and 24.3, respectively. If you zoom in even closer and look at each 10-mph increment, the two cars trade off which is quicker until 120 mph, when the manual starts pulling away."

Not a head-to-head comparison. Different day, time, conditions, temperatures. M3 M-DCT has also run 3.9 seconds 0 - 60 mph and 12.4 seconds in the CTS-V vs RS5 vs M3 comparison by C&D so the variability is huge depending on the test and publication being looked at.

We are talking head-to-head test. I have seen many head to head racing videos with consistently the same result. Try again.

I 100% agree with you that DCT is faster, but the fastest stock DCT I've ever seen was 4.1 I believe. Its usually 4.6ish unless its very sunny.

Nice. By how much did the M3 lose in the 1/4?

Not sure what the M3 ran in the 1/4, but the C63 ran a 12.06 @ 117.4. The C63 lost the slalom by 0.17 seconds according to an eye witness. Good job to both drivers, sounds like it was a good matchup.

Road and Track ran 4.1 0-60 as well as a 12.5@114.8mph with a 6MT car. In reality they are pretty darn close the 6MT and DCT cars.
