2006 E46 M3 FS $24k

You guys think it's a good buy? It's a salvage title, flooded in Maryland. 2k miles on the car, nav, smg, 19"s, xenons, etc. Pick up is awesome.

Think about it man $24K may be cheap for a 2006 M3 but it's still very real money. See rostik's (whatever his username is) threads for info on the perils of salvage title ownership, and think about what a hassle it will be to sell a salvage title even if it's in perfect running condition.

Stay away from that car, a salvage car value has been disminished, you may even be paying more what is worth!

And from insurance standpoint it so it going to be a little harder to insure, for its worth zero in their mind. unless you get it certified again by them or others, before they will it insure it. But once they do, it wont be of the full book amount.

Another hurdle you have it your bank, if your bank is loaning you 24k
but the insurance will only insure it for 10k. What do you think will happen if you total it. Whats the value amount of the car?

You guest it! yup 10k so you have to come up with the difference.
Its best to talk to your insurance company first before you decide on this.

And you will also have to rebuit the title for you cant operate a salvage title car on public streets and highways. It has to pass a rigorous recertification process. And that may cost you money that you think you saved.

Sounds liek a potential project car. If you do buy it, you could make your own purpose built track car. Personally, I wouldn't buy that though....
