There are three dyno measurements here; Blue, Orange, and Green

Do I assume the following configurations?

BLUE: Old software + Evolve Tune = 349.74 HP
ORANGE: New Software w/o Evolve Tune = 368.34 HP
GREEN: New Software + Evolve Tune = 372 HP

Is it also safe to assume that this was tested with 91 Octane ?

Thanks!

Just had my software updated with new spark plugs; my gas mileage is horrible right now; how long till the software adjusts for optimal settings?

+1

Just got mine back from the dealer after a few minor warranty issues. One of which was a nav freezing issue, and naturally the cure was a software update.

They wouldn't tell me which version it had before, but it's now running E89X-12-03-502. Honestly it feels like an entirely different car.

I would like to see a few of those graphs. All the ones missing. Separate graph for each "tune", ie 100, 100 tuned, 231, and 231 tuned.

Lucky bastard! I know I asked before but did you go to Schomp?

It was Schomp. I had a bonafide nav issue so it made sense for them to update the software.

I'm not sure what they would say if you just showed up and asked for an update. Maybe show them your low dyno results and see what they can do?

Tried another local dealer and they said no go. I do have a bluetooth issue that is throwing a code that might do it. Last time I had a reprogram was when I had an issue with the Siruis module freezing and occasionally skipping stations. Does Schomp ever hassle you about your Evo?

They haven't hassled me yet (knock on wood). When they did the SW update I dropped it off with the Delete-R installed...so either they didn't notice or didn't care.

Aside from that I just love how it sounds when they pull it into the staging tunnel.

I just got my car updated to 231E at Bimmersport here in Toronto.

It feels a lot better, especially at the lower revs. I actually got some wheel spin shifting into 2nd gear for the first time, which I normally never get when accelerating quickly.

There's definitely more power there.

When they hooked up the Autologic to my car, it had 080E on it!!!

It also seems like my gas mileage is better even though I've been driving the car pretty hard since I got it updated. If that continues, it would be a great bonus!

Would it benefit me? I have an 5/08 e90 6mt. Dealer said they have no idea what I'm talking about. Maybe I should look forward to having a problem. My car is still under warranty. Also, would a tune shop be able to update it for me? Thanks

If the car hasn't been updated, it would definitely benefit you IMO. A tuning shop with Autologic or the OEM tools can do it.

Got the 231E update for my car a few weeks ago. Can't say there was a noticeable difference in performance (had the factory programming on my 08 before). One thing though is the cold start seems to be a little more rough now than it was before.

Same feeling on my updated car. Cold start is more rough but beside that its just a positive update :-)

I noticed that too. Mine doesn't rev quite as high (maybe 1200 instead of 1500) and it "lopey" like it has a big cam lol! Also, I thought that my ICV was going bad (revs going up and down during cold starts) and that is virtually gone now.

As far as not being able to FEEL a difference in performance, that's not terribly surprising to me. The "butt dyno" is gonna have a hard time detecting a 3-5% change in power. We are talking about 10-20 HP here compared to 400+. That's "in the noise" for the butt dyno IMO.

New guy here. Been reading up for a while. Had my 08/6sp dynoed yesterday. Car has fresh plugs, oil, and filter. Made 324 hp on all three pulls. Temp was 81* F. Dynojet dyno. A/f was a bit lean up top, but pulled all the way through to 8500. Will be doing the update to 231 today. Another dyno will be performed in a week or two. Great website with lots of technical info!

Edit: less then 12 hours later, car was updated successfully to 231E by Mike Benvo. Great guy, in and out in 30 minutes. Two thumbs up!

Thoughts: car feels great, seems to pull a bit harder, however the dyno will tell. Thanks again Mike! Enjoy your vacation and be safe.

231E is the latest version but 220E should give you virtually the same benefits.

Just went in for service and got a full software update. How do you know what software version was loaded?

If the dealer updated it, it's safe to assume that you got the latest version.
