Looking for a North American Dealer ~ Have you seen an M3 with theses Wheels?

UPDATE ~ PLEASE REFER TO POST 23 BELOW ARE THERE ANY BBS WHEEL DEALERS ON THIS FORUM? CAN YOU FURNISH THE WHEELS SHOWN BELOW?

I am wondering if any of you ever saw a M3 in North America with the Turbine Wheel Design?

Or

Do you know of a dealership other then from Germany.

If all fails I will order them from Germany, just have to have them as my summer set

Yes they are, you do know your wheels ... I may have to sweet talk the dealership in Germany to get them glad I speak the language

I recall, many moons ago, that BMW Canada was an official importer of Alpina products.....I wonder if any dealers still have access/connections along these lines.

Try contacting Budds - they have sold Alpina Cars, so should be able to get the wheels you are looking for.

Hi Rolf, get in touch with Ted Bogle (Parts/Performance Mgr) at Budds and deal with him directly. He's pretty damned good at getting anything and pricing is always competitive.

Definitely don't stop til you get the Alpina turbine-design rims Rolf! If the aforementioned dealership does not work out then be sure to call Calgary BMW and ask for Tara-Leigh, she knows her stuff and the team over there in sales can get it done I am sure. They have had various Alpina cars on the showroom floor so there is definitely a connection as not everyone gets these 'classy' cars.

I will go to the local parts dept & tell you the cost. Though while they have a few Alpina's on the floor, I'm not sure they sell these wheels.

Thanks Mark, I will do that and see how I make out.

BTW, we had a nice meet and cruse this past weekend (you may have read about it in the Canada Sub-Forum (Oakville, Toronto then Sandbank National Park) we had a great time and lunch at the Duke place. Perhaps the next time you can come along and be my navigator it be nice to meet up with some of the M3 folks. Julie was also there with her husband and perhaps others you know as well.

I shall contact her as well, just in case her sources are better then out here in Ontario. Thank you BMW Fanatic

Thanks Moxie for doing this I'll be very interested what you find out. I would assume based upon the published size that the wheels will fit nicely on my e92 M3. The full descripotion of the wheels and part numbers are:-

19" ALPINA CLASSIC WHEELS - 2010

Saloon, Touring, Coupe, Convertible, xDrive incl. lockable wheel covers and Mobility Kit.

8 x 19" 225/35 ZR19 88Y (front)
9 x 19" 255/30 ZR19 91Y (rear)

I think the offset must be the same as my now 19" furnished OEM 220m Wheels.

Thanks again in advance for your help,

Cheers, Rolf-Dieter

Rolf - The parts dept called Alpina & was told they do not have the wheels in M3 offset. They do sell them in 3 Series offset & for the 8X19 & 9X19 they cost 2388 Euro with Vat. Without Vat it's 2007 Euro or ~ $2630 USD, which is less than I expected. They have a 3 series B3 Bi-Turbo convertible, coupe & wagon Alpina on the floor. I took a couple crappy cell phone pics of the Silver & Black wheels on them & will post later - Took a couple of pics of the Black 7 series wheels also.

Found out BBS makes the wheels for Alpina. It's stamped inside the hub.

Thanks so much Moxie for your help and effort it is very much appreciated.

I am sure that with spacers and extended wheel studs fitting the wheels on my M3 is doable. I have my dealership here in Canada working on it as well. It should be interesting what there mark up will be to bring the wheels to Canada, I am also surprised of the low cost, I am sure the price will increase after import tax and duties as well as shipping costs from Germany.

Thanks again and I am looking forward for the photos

Take good care & Cheers

Rolf-Dieter

Re: BBS, I know that BBS Kraftfahrzeugtechnik AG is a high performance automobile wheel design company headquartered in Schiltach, Germany, so it makes sense for Alpina to use them as a wheel supplier since they are near by.

Thanks again for your help fellows, perhaps you can do a small follow up for me.

So I found out that the BMW Dealership do not recommend the rims (apparently the offset is not the same, I won;d have expected that). I know from experience asking my local BMW Dealer last fall about spacers for my now 18 inch winter wheel set there reply is simply "we don't recommend spacers" So I assume all they want is to sell me the BMW wheels.

Also I found out that Alpina has the "Turbine Wheels" I mentioned above in my original post made at BBS.

I also know that plenty of folks out there use spacers and extended wheel bolts/studs and nuts to make up for the difference of the spacer addition when they install after market wheels.

I am almost certain that the bolt pattern of the M3 and the 3 Series are the same so why will BMW/Alpina not sell me the Turbine Wheels.

Can I ask you Moxie & SehrSchnell, if you should have the opportunity to be at the showroom to ask a knowledgeable individual this question.

"Can the Alpina 19 inch wheels be mounted on a M3 with extended wheel studs using spacers?"

No worries If you don't get the opportunity, I shall then persue it when I am in Europe later this year, there is no rush. I just like to get those wheels.

Thanks in advance fellows.

Cheers, Rolf-Dieter

PS Here is what I got back from Germany ....

Good morning,

Sorry, my information was really dated.
Please be informed that the 19 inch rims for BMW E92 are not available for the E92 M3. They won't fit because of different offsets etc.

I hope this information will help you.
If any further questions arise, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

With best regards,

Daniela

They look like a bitch to clean. And getting inside the spokes to clean the wheel barrels seems virtually impossible. I'll pass for this reason alone.
