Help With LC2i

So I went to install my sub today and came prepared. JL 12w3v3, JL500W amp, Technic Harness, and LC2i.

The shop I went to hooked everything up, but the LC2i signal was too weak. It wouldn't turn on unless the volume was cranked really high for the signal to be strong enough. So after some time of him thinking of what to do he just hooked up the sub to the amp directly and it works fine.

Do I need to install the LC2i? And if so what is my option?
He was getting the signal straight from the amp and told me there's no different in getting from the underseat woofers. Since it's the same thing (according to him). Also he wanted double the install rate to do that so I said fuck it since the sub worked fine.

The amp is also powered through the small black wire in the rear seat for remote turn off/on.

I don't have an L2ci in my setup. Using technics harness and and 2 amps with balanced inputs you should be fine. I'm using 2 amps. Jl 600/6 and JL 600/1.

What model amp do you have? If it has signal sensing you don't need a remote wire.

OK, yeah that model does not have signal sensing so you will need a remote wire.
Does your harness not have a remote wire?
