I still disagree.

Tom's post clearly includes the implication that the "first" is the remote delivery of the DCT software, not just the DCT software. His post may have been appropriate back in 2009.

There is also the issue of doing something on a small scale testing basis vs. publicly offering it. I contend that the latter is the primary thing that matters. That too is the only understanding from the combination of the OP and Tom's post.

I'm not knocking your product here in anyway. I have a lot of respect for all you guys do with BMWs and particularly the M3. I'm just a bit of a stickler for the details.

Cheers.

You can interpret what others post any way you want and have discussions with them to debate the details over PM if you like. None of which really has to do with the product we are discussing in this thread so I would greatly appriciate any further discussions about other products be done elsewhere and leave this thread to discuss the product we are offering today.

Thanks

Thanks for clarifying!

Roman,
Would anyone already having a ESS E-flash System for their supercharger have need for another one? Can the software be purchased separately?
Thanks!

They just email you the file and you upload it with the e-flash cable you already have and you also get a bit of a discount.

You can program the ECU and DCT with the same cable.

What if we like it rough

Is it possible to get the prior "too aggressive" tune you talked about?

I think the DCT is absolute perfection with no lag, reads my mind in D mode and shifts so fast and smooth. However that is also the problem. I would do anything if this felt like the SMG did and in S5 it felt like S6 or even more violent!

I am happy to spend the money as perception is reality and violent shifts in S6 or SMG are absolutely a thrill and each time I do a WOt shift in S6 in 1st or 2nd I literally think to myself that this is absolutely ridiculously violent!! And love it!

Problem is I do not like to take traction control off so rarely use S6 and S5 simply is not aggressive enough for me. Would this software give an SMG or S6 violence in S5?

Send me a pm about this. I have a BPM tune though... Do I need another cable. Or is this separate?

I understand your point but to be clear.
  1. I have specifically steered clear of thread crapping here by naming any other products.
  2. The timeline for the development and any "firsts" claimed for your product is absolutely about the product itself (and equally well is about your pace of innovation).
  3. Your reseller/partner has made a false statement about your product

You can't really have your cake and eat it too. This is a message forum. I understand you are a sponsor, but I'm also a long term and solid contributor here. The discussion belongs here. Now all that being said, I have spoken my piece and will accept your request to end this line of discussion. Cheers.

A lot of what you feel with the SMG is a delay in power delivery as the transmission is changing gears then all of a sudden it comes back in once the transmission is in gear. The DCT will never really feel like this due to the car getting into gear much quicker and not having this lag in power. Our software does allow you to feel more of the gear changes during WOT high RPM's due to the speed of the clutch engagement but it will not be as dramatic as the older SMG system.

Who cares who did this first? FWIW, my DCT was remotely tuned 2+ years ago by ESS, as were other cars. What ESS is offering now is a file that the end user can upload anytime he or she wants, no different than their ECU tune, that is the difference I believe that Tom is referring too and the general public can buy it now and upload at their convenience.

Can't believe that is a serious comment. Firsts and innovation in business and technology don't matter?
