HFC & xpipe question

Hey Folks -

Has anyone just done a HFC install and left the OEM x-pipe on the car? I understand this might involve some cutting and fitting to get new HFC's onto the stock system, but curious if anyone has done this and know what the perf gains are. From what I've read the OEM xpipe is a fairly good design...the main issue is with the restrictive OEM primary cats. Is this simply not possible?

It would probably be cheaper to just buy and xpipe section that has nice smooth bends rather than the crushed OEM ones. The labor to cut and install HFC's to this xpipe would be a wast of time.

Thanks J08M3...I didn't realize it would be that much of a pain.

Might want to check out that GT Motoring slip-on X-pipe, that cuts out half of your X-pipe and replaces it with a slip-on clamp section, as a partial solution? As for primary section, J08 is right, it'd be more economical to just buy a full x-pipe instead.
