I just had the same problem with MY09. The idle would drop from 1.2 to 500. I would get a reduced engine power malfunction then it would go away and come back. It took the dealer forever to figure it out, but eventually they changed the fuel injectors and everything is back to normal.

Try to stick with shell or mobil,i had the same problem a while back and it was a the fuel and there were no shell or mobil where i was.
Techron will clean your injectors and lines but also you have to know that if your injectors are not flowing as they should,an error msg will pop on ur idrive.Try the techron and lets hope that it will be fixed.

On cold Starts in the morning it happens to my car. The rpms go to 1500, then seems like the car is choking and goes down to 600 then back up to 1100 and settles down with a bit of stuttering then its all good.

What's weird is that it only does it in the morning the first start of the day.I gass up with 94 octane (petro Canada). If it was the ICV wouldn't the idle always be shaky?

Don't gas stations all purchase from the same storage and refiners? I've always suspected citgo of having cheap gas but can't confirm.

Probably different over there then.

91 only at Mobile

SOME gas stations (usually a 76 or a no-name) have 100

Never seen 93 anywhere here

I just remember reading reports that they're not tier 1 over here thus not up to par.

To be honest, I only use Shell and Mobil.tried others in the past and had to deal with water mixed with the fuel so i use those two now unless im in the middle of no where and i need to gas up and got no choice.

Both folks who reported idle problems have their ICVs on the way out. At least for what I've read in the past 2 years. But until you have faults, don't waste your time at a dealer. The good news is when it happens, you can usually clear the 'limp mode' a few times by cycling the ignition. But at that time, you better take the car in soon. If you search, there're different symptoms, and sometimes it has been something else, but idle going high is an unmistakable ICV problem.

I also have experienced a couple of almost stalling episodes before shutting engine off (when I get to my destination), but not revs going higher than idle. It could also be my ICV, but I'd probably say in my case it could be the gas. Both instances were on a trip, where I couldn't fill up at a Chevron station, which I always do. Chevron gas will NOT be the issue, unless it was from a tiny gas station, and gas was bad. I always fill from large stations. Good luck, and keep us posted.
