Parking light?

I remember I have read it somewhere but I couldn't find it anymore. How do you turn on the "P" parking light? I know you have to pass the right/left lever detent in order to turn it on but it doesn't work on my car. Thanks for any input.

I assume you're talking about having only the right or left side parking lights on. After you've shut the car off, you need to hold the turn signal stalk down (or up) for a couple of seconds. Just a momentary flick will not do it.
