Turner Ecu & Cat Delete

I just got some info from the guys at Turner. They have finally finalized their pipes and sent me a dyno chart. Prices for the ECU are on their website and if I'm not wrong their front pipes are running for ABOUT $600 (forgot to get the prices for the pipes from them). Here are some pics. I told them the graph only shows one line but they said there is a yellow line that is hard to see (graph is suppose to compare the stock vs ecu/cat delete). Is it only me or do I need to get better contacts? haha. But I wanna hear what you guys think.

P.S. you have to sign a wavier before they begin work that basically states that if anything happens to the car, they are not responsible for anything. And that it is for off road use. So basically you are on your own once they install the parts.

lol hard to see that yellow line. As for those pipes $600 is a rip off I had that exact same thing done to my car for $200 at a local shop. As for the gains if its legit its good but I want to see what Power chip stage II makes. Since I already have the Powerchip flash It will be nice to compare.

What's your thoughts on the Powerchip? Any before/after dyno results?

The Powerchip feels great but my tune isn't complete yet After I get my exhaust installed they will tune it on the dyno for me since I have a rich condition they want to sort out. And I will for sure post up all the data then. Including AFR's from right out the headers.

Hmmm, sorry for the hijack but your post worries me a little bit. Powerchip Australia have indicated to me there is only a single tune available, and it has been fully tested etc no problems - they reference real world gains based upon US customers.

Sounds like it may still be in a development phase?

The original tune was not for a cat delete.

There are constantly updates.

Ya their tune is tested and complete for a stock car with cats but my car doesn't have cats and therefore it needs to be tuned for it just like how Turner Motorsports has 2 different tunes one for a car with cats and one without. The fact that my car doesn't have cats requires additional tuning this is where the bulk of the gains are made and that isn't finalized yet. Sticky is undergoing similar tuning for what will be called the Stage II that will be made for no cats and have other improvements that can be made.

Sweet, thanks to yourself and Sticky for the clarification. I will have sports cats, I'm guessing Stage II would be better although running the stock tune probably would be OK with Sports Cats....

Definitely is OK, more than ok Stage II will be interesting... we will see where it goes, I intend to combine it with the RPI exhaust.

YES! I HATE IT TOO! I was so set in doing the turner set up as when we first talked about it they said that they would be able to support me if there were issues in the future as they had enough technical equipment with them and they had contacts at the dealers. And at that point of time they said that the dealers they are in contact with respect what they do and trust them with their work. giving me the idea that the dealer would be able to warranty the car even if something goes wrong with a turner tune. But once they finally finalize their package they tell me that i have to sign this wavier. which bugs me. If a tuner has confidence in their products they would warranty everything. like Dinan. I have a 900+hp R34 and my tuner warranties my engine. Taking the fall if anything happened. Which i think is the way to go as that puts confidence in the customer. know what i mean?

Although I'm pretty sure no other tuner will be backing their product up to that degree Except maybe Dinan. I think the waiver is stupid. And for tuner to be the most expensive flash available Its even more stupid.

Sorry for the , but ACS also offers a FULL warranty on their tuning kits. This includes, and is not limited to, the engine, internals, transmission, clutch, brakes, brake pads, suspension and any other part of the vehicle that can be affected by their tune.

Unfortunately, the E9X M3 tune is not available yet, and because of the warranty, will be far more expensive than the tunes currently available. This is why smaller tuners do not offer this type of warranty. Because ACS is a BMW dealership in Germany, they are required to warranty any tune they make for these vehicles.

Example: ACS 335i power kit is $10,100. It includes the tune, exhaust and the warranty.

I'm guessing the waiver has more to do with the cat delete. They probably dont want to be held accountable for taking out the cats on a street car...could be wrong

Ya Im Not Feeling these Pipes too. I Soo Rather Put my Money Into the
AA X-Pipe, Encore Innovations or the Gintani X-Pipe...
I don't know about those Pipes.
Looks Wayyy to Backyard to me lolll....

Dyno Figures on the Encore Innovations X-Pipe!
These Figures are with a STOCK Exhaust and Stock ECU with ONLY a Afe CAI
Stock: 341.7whp / 247.3tq
After: 354.9whp / 256.1tq
Max HP gain: 14.7whp @ 8200RPM
Max Torque gain: 20.6 lb torque @ 2750RPM
Dyno Graph: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=236693

Go with One of these Pipes.....

AA X-Pipe:

Gintani X-Pipe:

Encore Innovations X-Pipe:

That is my understanding as well. They could get into legal problems without this waiver.
