I honestly think BMW Fanatic is being a bit unreasonable. What do you want them to do? Buy you an OEM hood and refund your money? Not going to happen. Yes the situation sucks but they are willing to pay for return shipping and to refund you. You can't really expect any more except maybe some type of gift card for your trouble.

You are correct, you cant expect more from a company that already offered a return label+full refund.. however they cant pay back the time he lost...

Some of these companies have no respect to their customers. Because of the fact that they are offering the lowest prices, they think they are making us a favor...

I think one of the points here is that PYSpeed should have handled this appropriately early on *when* the problem was initially reported, and not *now* after the bad press.

I wish they would allow forum members to vote on who can be a vendor on this forum. Seems like a handful should get booted.

OP is a little bit overwhelming..... After market parts never fit perfectly, just stick with oem... Things like this happens everyday, need more understanding between buyer and customers.. hopefully this will be resolved soon... weather here sometimes make people inpatient...

Wow that fit is horrible. Who in their right mind would say that is "normal"?

OP, just looking out for you, but I'd buy an OEM hood, ship the useless CF one back and move on. You have to buy an OEM one anyway. might as well get it over with. I think your threads have done enough to open members eyes (I'd never consider non OEM parts anyway).

Good luck

When oh when will Arkym reply to me? This can all be ended if both PYSpeed and Arkym ADMIT they royally f*cked up. It's funny how Arkym still hasn't replied to me since leaving for SEMA. What a waste of a company.

I'll accept the refund when the above happens ON THIS THREAD. Not via PM, not via e-mail, and not via the phone.

At this point I understand it's a matter of principle but don't torture yourself. If Arkym and PYSpeed never reply you still have to get your car in shape. I think your thread has done enough to their reps at this point. Even if they PM you or email you, there is still the option to cut and paste their response. Good luck on this ...............Phil

so how it is drivin a CF hood that don't fit? maybe you want to keep doing that to make more issues worse. whatever is your gripe about the product, the people, etc, you are just making it worse keeping onto it.

you notice that it needs to be in good shape in order to get a refund? yes, if you drive this longer and it gets damaged, you'll end up keeping a CF hood that don't fit for good.

get yourself another hood now and return this CF one. otherwise, you'll get no refund (and a "I told you so")

both vendors are small companies. not corporate btw

I still don't understand how the OP has no OEM hood? What happened to it? It's not ARKYM or PYSpeed's fault that he doesn't have his OEM hood to put back on while he ships the CF one back. He was offered a refund and a shipping label to ship the hood back. I don't understand what more they can give him at this point.

It definitely should have been handled differently by the vendor and the manufacturer but we're way beyond that at this point. It seems like the big deal here is the OP doesn't want to ship it because he doesn't have another hood to install but I don't see how anyone else can be held accountable for that.

I hope OP resolves this issue soon. OP get yourself a used OEM hood and send back the CF one. Get your refund and move on. Its not worth keeping yourself stressed out over this for so long.

Op, your hood is damaged but still useable. I get the whole concept behind the bad business, but they are willing to refund your hood and pay for shipping. Why don't you put your old hood on, get the refund and buy a new OEM? In the "For Sale" section, someone is selling a Vorsteiner hood. GL with everything.

In for a resolution to this issue. Personally I think they (PY/Arkym) should just refund his money. My question is, why bother having Fanatic ship back a defective CF part? It's not like they can fix it, can they?

Just refund the guy's money and have the guy dump out the defective hood (can even request proof that he has broken it so they don't have to worry about a defective part being sold to another member who will have similar fitment issues).

You have to think about it from both sides. From PY's side, you wouldn't just give someone back their money and not expect product in return. They are going to need that part back so they can return it to ARKYM to get their money back. Same thing from ARKYM's end. They aren't just going to give PY money without knowing for sure that their product was defective.

These 2 companies lost all credibility. Customer > all events etc. Without the CUSTOMER, these companies are NOTHING. my 2 cents.
