about to buy a used m3...

Hi guys. I am pretty new to this forum. I signed up when I bought my wife's 2012 528xi, hense the name, wifesbimmer. I have been looking to buy either an M3 or a GTR for the past few months. It seems like a GTR is little out of my budget right now, so I've decided to go with a M3. I am in fact in the process of dealing with someone to purchase a 2011 with DCT and EDC that has about 45,000km. They were asking $60,000 in the beginning, but I managed to bring it down to $53,000. I am wondering if I am getting a good deal on it or not. Any thoughts or opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks ahead.

Not sure what that is in miles but sounds a lil high. I chose an M3 over the GTR also

it's exactly 27961.704 miles. lol Things are always more expensive than they are in the states, but I guess our wages are a little higher to balance that....

seems ok, but you just have to watch the used car market in your area to see what they are going for. what is good in one city may not be good in another. supply and demand...

its an e92 with nav, carbon roof, edc, dct, white on black, keyless entry, i think it's pretty much fully loaded. Do you really think it's a good price for it?

does it have the competition pack? and how many months left on the original warranty?
anything show up on the CARFAX?
if everything checks out and has some warrantee and the comp pack I'd say $53k is a fair price. Not a steal, but if you like the int/ext colour combo then go for it.

You can easily find 2011 e92 comp packs with all the same options in the US for mid to high 40's.

That's my advice.

Regardless, the M3 is a more practical choice and you'll love the forum community more than that of the GTR.

Seems like a pretty good deal. As long as it has a clean history, go for it.

Thanks for your inputs. Although, it doesnt have the competition package' It only has 45,000km so there's still plenty left on thr warranty. Plus, finding out its clean records for accidents after checking Carfax was a pretty good relief. I may buy it after all. Thanks guys for your help.

Lol what's wrong with GTR forums?
Haha.
There's nothing wrong with the GTR forums. I just find this one the most organized and contains relevant and correct information.
For DIY work specifically.

My 2 cents.

OP, posted a response on the other thread. Take your time and look around.

Unless the dealer is willing to offer the extended CPO warranty which is only worth it for 2011 and on since it covers everything like the original warranty, I would say look for better deals on this forum.

dont stuck with carfax only, go for carproof as well,
carproof shows more accuracy.
I found there was an comprehension damage in my last car in carproof which didnt show up in carfax. It wasn't big deal, it was just happen to be a windshield replacement but still...... you never know.

Also ask for full service history fm dealer and match it up with the carfax/proof report.
