^^^THIS....I am glad season has started...although I am sad at what happened...sad to see the sweater vest go, to see our QB leave (thought this year would be his year...sigh)...anyway some good games so far (Notre Dame losing, Boise laying the smack down, Oregon losing....)

If Tressel was upfront about the allegations even after he initially hid them, he probably would not have lost his job over this scandal. However, he consistently and defiantly refuted the allegations in front of the NCAA. Honestly, I have no idea why he thought he could hide this stuff from anyone. The truth came out pretty quickly, and things got out of hand...

Anyways, the past has passed. Hopefully Fickell doesn't mess things up this year. So far the Buckeyes seem prepared for the challenge. Unfortunately, the first game really didn't tell us too much since Akron wasn't a formidable foe. Toledo is definitely better and they use a spread offense that'll show any gaping holes we may have in our defense. I expect Toledo to put some numbers in yardage as well as points on the board.

I have a feeling that this year's team will have hints of the '02 championship team, in that our quarterbacks aren't very strong, our running game will be in the forefront, and our defense will hopefully keep us winning in close games.

As far as B1G is concerned, the Badgers look strong, and Nebraska will always be tough to beat. Penn State will be tested today, as well as that team from up north. I'm also liking Northwestern this year... they are a good team and can put up big numbers any game, especially when they get Persa back.

Much as I hate to say it (luv you too UDUB) I have to agree...the Badgers look REALLY strong and are definitely not pushovers. I love Northwestern (I actually should probably root for them since I was born in Evanston...but I don't and that is a story for another day). Not worried about that "team that shall not be named", I shall root against them as I always do!

My secondary team The REAL USC (South Carolina for those that don't know) is looking good as long as Garcia is in the lineup....I don't hate Georgia but if Richt loses this one I think he is OUT before the end of the season TBH.

Yeah, the Gamecocks look pretty good as well. They have a tough schedule ahead of them, but it should be interesting to see how they fare against the good teams in the league.

What's up with Georgia's hideous uniforms? At least they didn't force Uga to wear it.

Toledo looked good but I think they're better than people give them credit for. OSU should be a little worried about that close of a game, but I think people are going to make that out to be a more serious issue than it really is.

The WTF moment was seeing WVU struggle with Norfolk St for a bit.... WTF.

I know there's quite a bit of Ohio State and some Michigan State fans here, so I'm offering this (I have a wedding to attend):

I have a pair of Ohio State vs Michigan State tickets for Oct 1 in Columbus.
Section 4C Row 1. 4C is the north endzone, so you're a lot closer than the southend, and 1st row of C deck is IMO some of the best seats in the house, albeit mine are in the endzone, but you'll see everything.

These are regular general admission tickets, so no ID required, face is $70 each so I'm looking for $150 excluding shipping, since I had to pay for a stupid "handling fee" from OSU too.

I'm also open to trades for another home game this year. Depending on the game and seats we can figure out which party will put up more cash or if it's a relatively straight up trade.

Anyways, let me know if you're interested, I'll take paypal (preferred) or personal check. (with check, I have to withhold until funds are transferred)

Roughly the view, I think this is row 6 to row 8 in 4C, Row 1 is the railing you see up front:

okay, being a long time Buckeye watcher here's my assessment of tonight's loss.

Our offense sucks! 4 fucking completions!!!???
This is the worst fucking offense showing I've ever seen in the last 20 years!

Our worst offensive game was the 2007 USC game and at LEAST at the end of that game, we knew we had hope: Pryor was the future of the offense. We moved the ball, and we scored TDs.

Tonight's offensive ineptness is just baffling 2 completions before the last garbage time posession?!! Even my fat sister can thow a ball that doesn't look like a wounded duck.

Braxton Miller is a good wildcat QB, but he can't throw a spirl. Bauserman, omg, I know he's very careful, but throw that ball man, your line didn't even give up a sack today and 2 fucking completions!!???

Receivers: don't fucking drop the ball, especially when they're already in your fucking hands and you can't get open.

This is leading to one thing, I think we're going to be lucky to win 6 games this year, our only ray of sunshine is Urban Myer coming in and turning this POS around.

This was a horrible showing... we couldn't complete a pass if our life depended on it. Who the F were calling these crappy plays?!?

One way to bring up some confidence in a quarterback playing poorly is to run screens, maybe some quick outs, or slants. Why the hell is Bauserman holding onto the ball for like 10 seconds? The few passes that were in the vicinity of the receivers were dropped. I have no idea what happened, but I felt like besides maybe two possessions, we had what? 10 yards of total offense? It was just one bad play after another.

Our defense played commendable, considering the situation they were put in. They were on the field for 35 minutes of the game, and managed the Miami offense well. The offense needed to step up and give them a break... didn't happen.

That was painful to watch. If it wasn't for our offensive line, I feel like we wouldn't have had 100 total yards.

Bollman, Jim Bollman, the play calling only works when you have Terelle Pryor!!! Wake up Bollman, Pryor isn't here anymore! When the play breaks down, we have no one to scramble for 10 yards to bail us out. Bauserman will just fall down and Miller trys too hard.

this is what I'm saying, we need a changing of the guards here at Ohio State. If Fickell keeps his job, he needs to think hard about the future of this offense, we need to hire someone who knows what he's doing.

I agree with you Chewy, our defense played a A- game. Big plays are not acceptable, and dropped pick 6s are painful. But defense will always be here Fickell is a defense buy, our defense is never in question EVER in the history of Ohio State. Change the offense.

Frankly, I can't even say now, put Miller in, b/c I dont think he can win today, it'll get him experience, but if Miller starts for the rest of the year, we're not going a bowl game. Yes it's this dire.

I remember the one drive where EVERY play was a designed run. Then we get to the red zone and can't run anymore? Seriously?

This was horrible... this wasn't even Tressel ball. Even on a bad day we could get 100 yards of passing offense. 35 friggin' passing yards all game! Honestly, I'm surprised Miami didn't beat us by 50+ points.

seriously?!?! Fickell and Bollman needs to go!!!! 150 total yards?!! WTF!
Get them the fuck out of there!

ANY TEAM in the country would love to have our defense, yet our offense cant' even fucking throw the ball. FUCK, if Baylor or Northwestern had our defense they would win the National Championship. This is fucking ugly, OSU fans seriously, we'll be be lucky to win 2 more games this year.

^yeah UW had a good win today. Too bad the rest of the Big Ten can't help them get into the Natl Champ game though, we all suck, stumbling over our own shoelaces, tripping over each other, barely able to step off the team bus....

But seriously, UW is the best team in the Big Ten this year, hands down. The next 3 years will be interesting, this might be a change of guard of the top dog in the Big Ten. But rest assured, you can all laugh now, but Ohio State and Michigan will be back. And you will hate us even more when it happens.
