Car and Driver Sep 2007 - M3 First Test!

Sorry I don't have a scanner... but I'm going to give you the test results.

Vehicle Type: front-engine, rear-wheel-drive, 4-passenger, 2-door coupe

Engine Type: DOHC 32-valve V-8, aluminum block and heads, port fuel injection
Displacement: 244 cu in, 3999cc
Power (SAE net): 414 bhp @ 8300 rpm
Torque (SAE net): 295 lb-ft @ 3900 rpm

Transmission: 6-speed manual

Dimensions:
Wheelbase - 108.7 in
Length - 181.7 in
Width - 71.0 in
Height - 56.1 in

Curb Weight: 3650 lb

Fuel Economy (C/D est): 13 mpg

TEST RESULTS:

Notes: "The test car had unusual brake pads that squeaked like mad and worked best when hot. Grip was a serious issue, and we never got a perfect launch. Expect even better acceleration times when we test at our usual stateside venue.

Weather: 77 F, 63% humidity, 30.00 in Hg barometric pressure
Odometer: 1550 miles

Wheels + Tires: Forged Aluminum, Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
Front - 8.5 x 18, 245/40ZR-18 (93Y)
Rear - 9.5 x 18, 265/40ZR-18 (98Y)

Handling:
Road handling - 0.94g [ 300 ft diameter skidpad ]
Understeer - minimal

Acceleration:
0-30 - 1.7s
0-40 - 2.5s
0-50 - 3.3s
0-60 - 4.4s
0-70 - 5.6s
0-80 - 7.1s
0-90 - 8.6s
0-100 - 10.4s
0-110 - 12.7s
0-120 - 15.1s
MAX - 155 mph (governor limited)

Huh? Epacy is not mean- you should wait and see what it's like to have some of the other posters correct you..........

I needed therapy after Mofomat blasted me for an inaccurate post!
