Canadian duties

Anyone purchase online from Tirerack or any other sources and have their setup shipped to Canada? If so, what kind of duty charges did you get hit with at the border (and what was the cost of your package)?

Thanks,
Paul

I purchased the 18" M3 Reps from Powerwheelspro on ebay for 549$.
Shipping was 95$ which is very cheap and the seller was extremely helpful.
Wrote 200$ on the package and bill so that i would not get whacked.
Ended up costing me 80$ with Ups. 50$ of that 80$ was Brokerage fees which you can save if you broker it yourself...

The Tire Rack actually calculates the shipping, duty and taxes for you. Just enter your postal code and it will show you the cost breakdown. Everything is paid in advance so you don't have to do anything.

Tire Rack FTW, even with our low dollar right now it's cheaper than buying in Canada.

Actually no it isn't.
At all.
There's much cheaper and better options online then the Rack.
No offense. Just speaking the truth.

Well for everything I've ever bought not only was it cheaper but more importantly it was in stock and at my door within a few days. Some of the more exotic sizes and brands aren't readily available locally.

i find that tire rack is cheaper than most canadian sites... youyou might be right that its not the cheapest around cos there are other US sites that are cheaper but if you compare tirerack with the canadian sites, nothing beats it. the only bad thing bout tire rack is that there's no way they will under value what you bought so you'd have to pay full duty on them... if you go for a smaller company, they might be able to do what youyou did and under value the item so you pay less tax.
