ScheerSpeed: 24 hours STRAIGHT on a Benz GL550

This car belongs to my customer's wife. they have two kids, and thsi car serves as the "family car". Meaning kids go to soccer and baseball practice, school, etc in this car, so you can just imagine how out of control filthy the interior was. The exterior needed a two stage polish to get about 95% of the swirl marks out. However a few RIDS here and there remained, but would have needed to be sanded to completely remove, and the owner did not want to go that far. We worked for 24 hours STRAIGHT... 8am-8am because the owner needed the car the next day. The interior alone took 10 hours!

you said, so you can imagine how dirty it was, NO I couldnt.. My cars would never look like that nor my wifes, and we have three kids, My truck doesnt look like that and I have three kids and three dogs that come with us out on the boat and camping, and guess what, mine would never look like that.. jeez, thats discusting... thats why I buy new cars and not used ones too.. haha.

but props on the cleaning job, im sure it will fool the people when they trade it in.. imagine now if the inside is that bad, how do you think they treated the rest of it, probalby never had any maintenance done.. anyway off the soap box,.. oh yeah these are the people that put dings in other peoples cars too cause they dont care about their stuff or others..

sorry about that

good job on bringing it back from the dead.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but...I wish I could say working 24 hours straight on anything is a good idea, but it's not. Something is bound to suffer.

Glad the owners got what they needed given the circumstances though.

the interior took 10 hours? u guys didnt even shampoo the carpets.

My best friend owns a detail shop, and ive seen WAY WAY WAY worse being done in 3 hours max and it ended up looking brand new. What do you do take a 30 min break every hour?

The outside took 14 hours? lol

Seriously not trying to hate, but you must work really really slow.

Not impressed at all.

This was an entertaining thread. Finding a chicken bone and a fry was hilarious. Definitely a car serving it's purpose as a family hauler although I would never let my car get to that point.

My wife would get some serious spankings if it ever did! LoL!

I hope they paid you well. Make sure to divide it by 24 to make sure that you are making over the min wage You always do seem to do good work on your cars but the int of this one did not impress me as much.....

The area underneath the e-brake / dead pedal can still require more attention....

But very good job overall!

Tough crowd. To say you're not impressed is pretty steep. Job well done, while I don't know the world about detailing, you did a sufficient job!

How can you be not impressed? While not all detailers work at the same pace..most good detailers already take several hours on a multi stage polish(and this is on your regular size sedans). A car of this size will probably take twice as long. I'm not a detailer, but I've dealt with more than enough good and bad detailer to know this job was completed in a good time frame. Not to mention taking pics a long the way definitely cuts down on your finishing time.

Time=a more perfect result. when you are working with menzerna polishes, they can take some time to break down.
