I use to do a lot of highway driving, but the 90% city driving I've been doing from my commute to and from work, has knocked my mileage down to about 315 on a full tank.

I've got 58k on the clock -

High - 320 miles with 40 remaining (all highway cruise control road trip)
Low - 80 with 30 remaining (filled up 2 miles from VIR and ran four 20-minute sessions)
Average - 225-275 inclusive of remaining (50% traffic or city / 50% highway)

You guys can't be serious with the 300-400 range. Just not possible. I drive normal and no traffic and barely make it to 200-215 tank.

Obviously we're not kidding. If I still had my M3, I'd take a dash cluster photo. If you can't break 215 miles per tank while driving with very little stop & go, something is wrong.....

.....or you have a lead foot and aren't telling the complete story.

I get calculated (not computer) 20 mpg going at steady 70-75 mph on the highway. 16.3 gallon tank. So that would be 326 miles on a full tank!

Well it's not realistic. I'm on my 2nd v8 m3 and the numbers don't lie. And FYI a 400 mile tank would be more than what the window sticker states

Who cares about the window sticker estimates? And nobody said anything about 400 miles per tank. The highest I ever achieved was 350, and that took some extra babying, but 320-330 was fairly easy to achieve. I don't have a lead foot!

Stop with that antiquated nonsense. The M3 is still a mass produced road car. There is nothing wrong with extracting good mileage out of a sports coupe that the VAST MAJORITY use as a commuter. Hell, a Corvette performs better and STILL gets better gas mileage than an M3.
