I don't understand why even though you are having issues you are attempting to solve them by continuing to push the car and drive it around, instead of having a knowledgeable tech. look at it...

That reminds me of when my friend had a problem with his F430 so he took it up to 140mph in a 55 and got nailed by radar. The cop asks him "why the hell were you going so fast?". My friend said there was something wrong with the f1 transmission. So the cop says "there was a problem...so you went FASTER?!?!?

It doesn't sound like the OP waited the 200 miles for his break in on the s/c like ESS recommends either by his posts. |

I didn't realize this until I went FI. Say you are in 5th gear 80mph Auto Mode and you floor it, there is like a delay as I believe it is the clutch slipping and can trigger a DCT overheat problem. It's almost like the car gets confused when dropping too many gears. Need to make sure you are in the proper gear before going WOT. It's not really talked about much as I don't think too many SC guys even drive in auto. It isn't a kit specific issue as I believe M33 wrote up a really good list of "dos and donts" for supercharger owners which mentioned this and other common stuff. Search around for the list as it is quite informative.

Yep you got it! Shouldn't have a problem with that at all. You'll know if something bad is happening - the delay/slip is very easy to feel and pretty easy to trigger a DCT overheat error. From what I hear the DCT isn't actually overheating, it is just confused. The clutch slip can't be good for longevity though. I will test out your method and see how it goes for me. It is theoretically the best way to get optimal times, etc. I honestly used to drive my 08 M3 in auto mode more than manual. I'm really happy this supercharger helped change that. I was an idiot - now I find myself using paddles on any regular auto too. Much more fun! BMW135er, For this particular issue the shift logic setting really doesn't help. Just don't leave the car in auto in 3rd gear+ and go WOT. GIDrivers method seems to work fine.

Can you still use the kickdown super downshift in manual DCT mode with a super charger? And why is it when you ask people what the cons of a SC are, this is not mentioned. I dont use AUTO mode, but if some reason I did, it would have been nice to know I cant punch it prior to buying one. Not cool.
