Of M's, tend to see M6's in Beverly Hills/Santa Monica area.

I've seen 2 in my town; one E9X, one pretty old one. I guess I could buy everyone a Starbucks and not get pinched. Funny thing about this, I heard the WW production on 2010's was around 2500. Given that, they can't be too common anywhere.

I picked Newport Beach specifically for its income. You are right, there are a lot of exotics in the area, but Newport Beach has a relatively small land area so many of the exotics are visitors from surrounding areas, (i.e., Laguna Beach, Irvine, Mission Viejo, etc.) I would be willing to speculate that many of the cars you see "in" Newport are not from Newport. Just as an aside, the city I live in is probably less than 1/3 the size of Newport in land area.

Southern California is an amalgam of cities that just mush together. I grew up in Hermosa Beach/Manhattan Beach. I spent as much time in Redondo as I did in the others. Nobody would really know where the car was registered. LA and Orange counties are just one big city, so in the end, probably not a good example.

Thanks

My daughter goes to grad school in Irvine, Ca. I had to buy her a Arctic White BMW before going there. I think it was part of the lease agreement

Miami/Fort Lauderdale Area an South Florida in general is considered exotic car capitol. We have wide variety of specialty and super cars. You tend to see a lot of Rolls Royce's in Palm Beach followed by Ferrari's, Bentleys and Porsche GT. It is really cool to see numerous M series cars as well.

We live in a relatively small town, (6.2K people), in the southern mountains of West Virginia. Closest BMW dealer is 100 miles away. We have 5 M3s in the community, one E30, three E46s and one E92. There are also scattered 5 series BMWs in the area. This works out to one M3 per 1,260 people (that includes children). I seriously doubt another community can come close to that density for such a unique car, especially a community so isolated. As an example, Newport Beach, CA has a population of approximately 86K. To get to the density above, there would need to be almost 70 M3s registered in the city.

Any idea of how many are in your area?

Just to make it interesting, population needs to be at least 1000 people and there needs to be a minimum of 2 owners. This is to keep the one owner, town population of 10, (town named after the family), out of the equation (We have those in West Virginia and other parts of the South).

As an aside, the median annual income in this area is $25K; however, knowing the other owners, none of us are making $25K. And the Starbucks is alongside an Interstate.
my town a town of 70000 id say 1 sedan (mine) and 1 or 2 coupes

I live in a city of 400,000 people and there are about 6 E9x M3s with 2 more on the way. There would be older ones too but I wouldn't know how many.

+1
There are more E46's than E92's, at least where I live. In my parents neighbourhood where I moved out from only 6 months ago, there are 3 other E9X M3's. Though in my new neighbourhood, mine is the only E92. Funny enough, there is a guy on my street who drives an E46 M3.

There aren't many modded E9x's around, though I did see a heavily modded AW one in the city not too long ago and I also saw Bunn's Jerez Black E92 parked at Lowe's in Vaughan not too long ago as well. Looked sweet!
