Pics and Update
Finally had a chance to post some pics that I took last week. I have since swapped out the reflectors with painted reflectors and changed the front grills to all black with the IND cosmetic package (still have to do side gills). Goes in for 40% tint on all windows on wednesday.
For those of you who read my post from after delivery and the problems I had, here is an update. Got the car back Friday with an all good approval from 1 of the local dealers and the reason for the errors as being bad fuel (they said they analyzed some of the fuel and found higher than normal ethanol content). This is fuel that was in the car when delivered to me. Anyway, drove all Friday afternoon and evening and car ran great. Saturday morning, started it up early to head out for golf and got the same raft of errors with emissions and reduced power. Between picking it up and the errors on Sat I did the fuel the car up from a different station as the dealer so I'm not sure about there bad fuel diagnosis. The reduced power error goes away right away after re-starting the car and I'm only left with the emissions warning. Parked the car for the weekend and took it back in this morning for more troubleshooting. They replaced a fuel sensor today and again want to test the cold start tomorrow morning to see where they are at. Drove the car to the dealer this AM and it feels like its running great so not sure what the problem is. Enjoy the pics. B |

Congratulations, that's a nice clean car. BTW, it's grille not grill.

SSII FTW! Nice looking car - we're twins!
Hopefully all will be figured out with your fuel problems. Good luck with that. And good luck with the side gills!!! They're a real challenge on the E90.

Awesome looking car! I hope everything works out with the fuel issues. The Gallery fills up at Co-Op; not exactly my first choice for my M3! I ran into your CA when I was there having my 335i serviced on Friday. Seems like a nice chap.
Did you have a chance to see my incorrectly ordered E90 sitting in the showroom? Thoughts? We'll have to get together once mine arrives! Happy motoring. Asif |

I did see your incorrect car sitting there. Car looks great but it definitely not a Fox Red interior . Alpine White on the M3 is such a great color regardless of interior choice though. I saw countless people drooling over the car as they came through the showroom. I think your going to be pretty happy when you finally get yours. I have gotten a chance to experience close to your color combo as Gallery hooked me up with a sweet loaner today as I dropped my car off for the third time so they can continue to try to figure out what is tripping my emissions warning light. They sent me home in a near brand new 650i Cab (white with red leather interior, excellent combo). The car is loaded with every possible option (lists at about 130k) and is quite the machine. Totally different car than the M3 obliviously and might be an excellent choice of vehicle for a different point in my life. In the meantime though it will do a lot to ease the pain of not having my M3 while they figure things out. Let me know when your car gets here and we can hook up for a beer or something on a patio and swap stories. B |

A 650i cab? You're one lucky bugger, although I suspect it's the least that they can do for you. What is the diagnosis on your car now? I take it that the new fuel sensor didn't do the trick?
I can't wait for my car to arrive; summer is only so long here. On a positive note, production ended late last week, so hopefully it will be in transit soon. Best of luck Asif |

If you have time to post some pics of the blacked out grill. I have a SSII as well, and trying to decide whether to black out my front grills or not.

I'll be posting updated pics of mine tomorrow after a morning wash. I have matte black grilles, painted reflectors and gills and and newly installed M performance splitters. Maybe that'll help your decision.

Here's an updated photo of my front end. IMO, the matte black grilles make the car much more aggressive, and more suited to the M3.

Got my car back today finally after just over a week. BMW Canada over saw the troubleshooting and went through various trials before determining I needed all new injectors. Along the way I also got all new O2 sensors, a re-programming of the car, a new fuel sensor, and I'm sure some other things. They actually took my injectors off and put them on a different brand new M3 and it got the same errors on it when they started it. Needless to say mine seems to be running great now with the new injectors on it. I still have my fingers crossed that it starts without a problem tomorrow morning.
As mentioned BMW Gallery here in Calgary stepped up with a sweet loaner while they tried to figure out the problems on my M3. The 2012 650i cab I drove for the past week was tones of fun and the car started to grow on me. It was always decision time every morning as to what to do with the top (10C some mornings required the heated seats on but I braved it). So props to the guys at the Gallery for doing what they could to keep me happy while my car was there for the past week. Anyway, hopefully this is my last update on the issues with my car and from here on it its clear cruising. B |
