aFe Filter Questions

Will this be an easy drop-in? How long does it take?
They say it will be a little bit louder after the installation, but is it significant enough to be a nuisance? Thank you in advance.

Basically a drop in. You have to remove a few screws to access it.

Takes about 5 minutes.

I bit louder but in no was a nuisance.

Check the DIY section. Somebody has done a write up on how to install air filters....easy!

The only difference is that I have the Macht Schnell instead of the aFe filter.

I had both, AFE was louder slightly. Both give an improved sound and throttle response.

Very straight forward and direct install. The car will have a bit better air flow but it's not a night and day difference. IMO it's worth it for the price but again, don't expect the car to be completely transformed.

Euro versions have a slightly longer center pin than US versions.

Thanks for the replies, it now boils down to either the MS or aFe filters. I'm using the car 50% city and highway, so which specific filter should I choose? Now what's with the rattle I keep hearing bout?

Either one is a good choice. But you should check out the ape filter, it's the Macht Schnell filter with a different name for $25 less. I wish I had known about that when I bought mine.

The rattle is from poor sealing on the aFe part.

Simply go with the Macht Schnell filter, you won't be disappointed.
