So i decided to make a smart decision......in my eyes

Now i havent been apart of the e9x generation but i have been looking in and always wished i owned one. I'm an M enthusiast ever since I bought my first one, e46 2001 M3 (non ZCP) fully loaded, in 2005.

IMG_1991 by zachb12, on Flickr

I currently live in Lubbock, Tx and there are only 2 e9x M3's in the city. I would drool over them everytime i'd see them. So i've been able to keep me e46 as a toy over all of these years. I leased a tundra in 2011 to haul all of my personal training equipment around as well as my dogs. So my M sits with 94k on the clock with little to no use. In February I started selling cars and proceeded to think I then needed to trade in the tundra for an range rover sport. I ended up with an escalade in march. I thought i NEEDED an SUV and my gf swayed me from a 2010 RRS SC (that i could never find the perfect one) to an escalade hybrid for money savings AND because it would be eventually hers.

IMG_1956 by zachb12, on Flickr

IMG_2094 by zachb12, on Flickr

I then went to lunch with another cars salesman from a luxury dealer here in town. He brought a RED 08 e92 M3. It was game over for the escalde. I took it out with him after eating and i fell head over heals . How could you not with the sound of that v8's high rev's....

IMG_2318 by zachb12, on Flickr

So, i started looking through the dealership's group that i work at for a newer year with less miles and CPO'd. I originally wanted a DCT but found the perfect car with a 6MT. Figured it would keep that connection and manipulation of the car for longer then a DCT would in the long haul.

The car was in Houston and i had wed off so i flew down the get her. Dirty Diana is now her name and she was PERFECT. Black on black with comp package and not a single mark on her. As if the car was brand NEW!. Seriously every button had felt as if it had never been pressed. There were no signs of use in or outside the vehicle. A CPO'd 2011 e92 M3 was in my life. Finally.

IMG_2367 by zachb12, on Flickr

IMG_2368 by zachb12, on Flickr

She had 31,xxx miles on her. But she feels as if it was 3.1 miles. Seriously i am so greatfull the previous owner had as much car for these cars as i do.

IMG_2373 by zachb12, on Flickr

As i had been planning if the car was black, i'd black her all the war out. Well that was going to be if she was any of the colors i wanted anyway. So the transformation, modding , and obsession begins.

So far i have installed iND painted reflectors, grills, gills, badge, LUX v4 AE, and color matched the rims. Spacers are on the way and well as tint for tails and Performance splitters, diffuser and spoiler!!! My girlfriend has been neglected the past week and a half but ohwell, shes gunna have to get used to it.

My only problem now is do i sell the e46 or hold on to it? I WILL be keeping one of these 2 for the rest of my life as my toy, but am torn between which one. They are and will be so iconic but i cant decide between the 2. The e46 has 20k$ plus in mods and it looks like the e92 in on track as well. Engine modifications will be added to keep one of them running forever but i don't know which one. I don;t have to choose anytime soon but if i am to keep the e92, the extra ~15k$ in my pocket would be great for mods and maybe a quick vaca......

Congrats, get rid of the e46 btw, you'll simply drive the M3 more often.

Congrats!

Congrats!! Great-looking car. My vote would be to keep the E46 if it's all the same to you from a space/financial standpoint. Kind of cool to have multiple generations of the same great car.

Is it just me, or are all decisions smart in your own eyes?

Seriously though, nice car. Enjoy the mods!

Congrats man! Id say sell E46 for two reasons; first it isnt over 100,000miles yet so selling it now you'll get slightly more for it than if you wait, second I could imagine selling the escalade (gf's car) and keeping two cars for you miiiiiight not go over well

Only 2 in Lubbock? Even midland has more than that! Nice ride though, enjoy making everybody in west Texas drool.
