Question about DCT...

my DCT M3 only seems to blip the throttle matching revs on downshifts in s4-s6... but it doesn't in modes s1-s3.

my SMG e60 M5 would match revs whilst downshifting in all manual gear modes (s1-s6), hence the question..

is that the case with everyone else's DCT m3?

Thats mostly correct...it will rev match downshift in S2 & S3 if the engine speed difference is big enough - ie if you downshift at say 4k rpm from 3rd to 2nd if will rev match but won't at more sensible engine speeds....(don't know about S1, I've never tried it.)

i wish it wasn't this way.

the throttle blips are amongst my favorite things about this car and gearbox. i find s4-s6 perfect for downshifting, yet on the other hand, the upshifts in s4-s6 a little too abrupt/uncomfortable for daily driving.

oh well (first world problems?)

At first I didn't like this part either. Now I really don't noticed it as much.

thank you all for your responses..

there's always a plus and a minus.
the DCT doesn't blip the throttle in the comfortable modes - which is on the negative imo - but it does manage to drop from 7th to 2nd in a way SMG couldn't dream of doing - and that's a very positive thing!
needless to say DCT has a charm in its D modes; not just in comparison to SMG, but also against the slushbox i had in my f02 750!

thanks again

You can always give a slight blip on the throttle when downshifting with either the paddle or lever. By doing so DCT will rev match.
